I enjoyed the first Avatar. Will wait for the 2nd one to arrive on the movie apps to watch. I have an 85” TV so it’s kinda like being at the movies…

Agree with this. My kids both liked the first. This type of film (visual and audio) is the reason I go to theaters. Same for Top Gun 2.

I have a pretty nice home setup which I'm almost done redoing - 4k OLED 83" professionally calibrated (which is real close to a reference level studio monitor these days), Marantz, Kef, and just added a Monolith 2x15 sub at 2000 watts. Still have to wire ceiling for atmos heights but solid enough. I love it and along with music it's something I've always been into. That said... There is no substitute for a full scale theater. My 2 cents anyway. I say all this as a point of reference and not just being a dude with a nice TV.

I liked it as much as the first. Not my fav but worth admission for sure and I'll own the disc when it comes out.

it didn’t even feel like 3 hr movie. I usually can’t go past 2 hours but this one flew by.

We saw it in 3D and I highly recommend doing that if u choose to see it in theaters

Watched it opening night and didn't care for it, watched it again the night before last and appreciated it much more. The plot, character development, philosophical underpinnings and message, it's ability to surprise you, etc, aren't exceptional. But there's some interesting stuff, some cute and funny characters and scenes, and some awesome imagery. Maybe I'm just a hater but I'd say it's just a standard good movie but not a great movie.

Disappointed. 3 hrs of alien chicks running around with small bikini tops and not a single nip slip.
Movie was ok.

Very mixed reviews from everyone ive talked to.

You either love it or are disappointed. Either way, you basically have to see it now because renting it would be a waste. it was MADE for imax 3D.

On another note, my wife and i saw THE WHALE and thought it was the best thing we've seen the past 10 months or so.

I’d also suggest Tar as well. Saw it in theaters and definitely another great one. Fantastic performances.

I actually really dig the first one even though they demonized Marines
