Whats the best type of massage for a bodybuilder to get. Can you name the top 3 in order in what you guys think or have experienced.

i was going to say

1. with happy ending
2. one with sponge bath
3 all of the above

but all kidding aside, i think this question depends on the person.. i dont like rough deep tissue.. but that seems what would be "best" for a bodybuilder

here ya go... YouTube - Jay Cutler Massage

Naked.

Nah, but I was gonna say deep tissue as above. Anything that takes care of trigger points is good from my experience. I've also heard of this thing called 'skin rolling' too that is supposed to be good for keeping elasticity (not sure though).

I go in for a deep tissue sports massage a couple of times per month.

It really depends on the issue at hand. I would say deep tissue, connective tissue, stone massage, active release technique......again it depends.

I usually get deep tissue just for general purposes but when Im having trouble with my elbows or knees (tendon issues), then connective tissue works best.

I would put ART above all though.

ART?

I've only had one deep tissue at some cheapie place in the bahamas. It hurt more than anything lol.

I've heard that certain massages can promote growth though?

Deep tissue and Rolfing.

rolfing x2

i have a pvc pipe that i roll each muscle out on after training. Self Myofascial Release is one of the most effective techniques to help recovery ive found. it hurts a bit, but you get used to it. dont be a pussy and use a foam one, use a pvc pipe :D

One where they ask u would u like a happy ending dont be curious and ask whats that just say yes HAHAHA and then go to the local std center the following day

aw damn i should read other posts before i post shit lol yall beat me

hate to sound like a religious freak but ART changed my life. I would highly suggest it for anything that even resembles a soft tissue injury

ART and graston technique hurts like hell but if you can find someone who can do it and knows what they are doing it can eliminate down time from training. Do a search and find someone in your area if you have soft tissue/ muscle injuries. It made a huge difference for me.

ART fixed a serious real deltoid injury last year. It hurts but it works. I'm currently getting it on my upper back and traps for the same thing. Being sore never felt so good:D.

I've only had the experience of:

1. Traditional Thai Massage (no happy ending)
2. Shiatsu
3. Ayurvedic
4. Tui Na

All asian and all therapeutic!

not to sound like a total beginner LOL

+1. Active Recovery Therapy is the real deal.
