so i pride myself on being a hard worker in the gym....

but whenever i drink any caffeine (usually Spike! energy drinks) my workouts are on a whole other level! i mean...it seems like im more focused and work 10x as hard....which is ridiculous.

does anyone know why i feel more focused? or is this just some placebo-effect bullshit im having?

increased energy and focus are some of the effects of caffeine, your not feelin the placebo, your feelin the caffeine.. caffeine is a good pre workput stimulant to use if you dont over do it! I like to take it during my leg days, A few years ago I was using during every workout, I really didnt like it., I felt like I couldnt get a good workout if I didnt have it.. I usually keep it to half of my workouts and I 'm fine..
 
i try not to use it too often...

i love using it on arm days....:D :p

SV, ditch the spike and either drink a strong cup of black coffee no sugar or get pharmaceutical caffeine tabs 200mg strength. Caffeine was banned by the IOC some years ago. It was dumped in the bag of performance enhancers and banned from competition. I'm not sure now but I think it may be allowed. But yes you are feeling the effects of a powerful stimulant, and as mentioned above do not go crazy with it or you will become dependant. Symptoms of caffeine withdrawl include nausea, headaches, dizziness and lethargy. These symptoms will go away after a short time. So use cautiously!! BTW too much caffeine will also have the opposite effect. Drowsiness!!
 
careful with yohimbe, not that its dangerous. i have a very low tolerance and a small margin of error with it before it makes me feel like complete ass and i cant workout. A lot of my friends are the same way.

hes probably saying that because of all the shit thats in it. sucralose, etc...

Cheaper by far and you will not get the hit from sugar. You will feel the thermogenic effect of caffeine on it's own. As well as the stimulant. Caffeine tabs are usually cheap as well and will go alot further than SPIKE! Remember that energy drinks contain alot of sugar. I always drink a very strong black coffee b4 training. I do not rely on it. If I miss a cup oh well, I still have a good workout.

ok i was going to go with caffeine pills for before workouts....but i wanted to make sure it was actually the caffeine in the SPIKE! that was making me feel that way...not any of the other crap

any good places to get some?
 
it could be the yohimbe also. does the label say how much is in it? you should be able to get caffeine pills almost anywhere. vitamin stores, supermarkets, gas stations

nope...it just says that it has it. should i take that too? or just stick with caffeine?
 
I would try out just the caffeine because i have a hard time with yohimbe. I can only take a little and just a little too much and I feel like shit. If you can try and find out how much caffeine is in the blend. So you can gauge how much you are taking in with the drink and get caffeine pills that are close so you don't overdo it with them also. Like oldfella said too much caffeine can f with you also. Have you ever done an ECA stack. I love ephedrine. That gets me better workouts than caffeine. Although ECAs have caffeine

nope...never done an ECA. should i? plus ill look into the caffeine content more.
 
i dont take caffeine that much, but when i do, 50-100 grams does the job for me, i take a 200mg tab and snap it in half, it gives me the focus without making me feel like crap. I get similar results with clen, the focus and drive are out of this world for me when i take them, and its kind of a must for me on the occasions when im not feeling like i want to go to the gym.

ahhhh!! ECA. This is a good one. The mix I use is this....Ephedrine 30mg......caffeine 200mg...........Asprin 500 mg. try to get real ephedrine (check with board sponsors) not the shit already in stacks. Pharmaceutical grade caffeine tabs 200mg strength and good old bayer asprin. Take 30 mins prior to training. You will be sweating bullets and tearing it up!!

will the ephedrine make me lose weight???? because right now im trying to gain.....im too small :( (6'0" and 175 lbs). what will it do for my size?

and am i too young for this??
 
probably, any stimulant will have that effect...thats why you take just the smallest amount that will give you results....half a tab or less of caffeine in my case.

Well it depends on your diet bro, I have actually gained weight whilst taking ephendrine to lose weight, lol and I was taking it 3 times a day, but ok I was on juice as well.

But if your only going to take it as a stimulant before training then I dont see it affecting yuor weight at all, you will just have hotter and more intense workouts.

ok so it should give me better pumps and a more intense workout?

so in theory it should allow me to work harding....in turn breaking down more muscle fibers....and growing larger?

am i approaching this right?
 
Of course the more harder you train, ie more weight, more reps the more grow and of course the key is your diet:)
