Cheap, Simple, Safe, Quick way to Tan - Hemp Lotion

I was given some Malibu brand Hemp "bronzing" moisturizer something-or-other lotion with CoQ10 in it. After 2 days of use I have a very dark tan that doesn't wash off, streak, or run and it looks very healthy and uniform. I look like a statue compared to how white I was before without using it.

Best part is, you just have to lather it on once a day and go on your way. It smells good IMO and its completely grease-free. Leaves no residue of any sort.

Worth a try for those who dont want to lay in a tanning bed. For me, this is the darkest I've ever been. Probably best used with once a week tanning for people with darker complexion than me. I was going 3x a week and this instantly put tanning to shame, for me personally.

Edit: And no, I don't sell it or receive any kickback or anything. I just genuinely like it.

Where did you get it at?

sounds promising. ima have to give it a try. where can we pick some up?

edit: its cheap on amazon.com. what brand are you using?

Awesome, just picked some up at Wal Mart for $6.50. How many times a day do you put it on? Once?

dark?

so how dark?
Stage dark?
Are we gonna put pro tan outta biz?
Or is this a good "civilian" product for the real world?

Thanks for the tip. I may have to appear on TV soon, and it would be nice to not be either my usual sickly-pale or lobster red.

This product darkens your skin with the same ingredient found in a lot of other sunless tannners, dihydroxyacetone or DHA.

Before using this, you might want to consider the safety warnings on DHA (this from wikipedia):
DHA safety considerations

For the 24 hours after self-tanner is applied, the skin is especially susceptible to free-radical damage from sunlight, according to a 2007 study led by Katinka Jung of the Gematria Test Lab in Berlin[15]. Forty minutes after the researchers treated skin samples with DHA they found that more than 180 percent additional free radicals formed during sun exposure compared with untreated skin. Another self-tanner ingredient, erythulose, produced a similar response. For a day after self-tanner application, excessive sun exposure should be avoided and sunscreen should be worn outdoors, they say; an antioxidant cream could also minimize free radical production. Although some self-tanners contain sunscreen, its effect will not last long after application, and a fake tan itself will not protect the skin from UV exposure.

The study by Jung et al. further confirms earlier results demonstrating that dihydroxyacetone in combination with dimethylisosorbide enhances the process of (sun-based) tanning. This earlier study also found that dihydroxyacetone also has an effect on the amino acids and nucleic acids which is bad for the skin.[16]

So we don't use it prior to being in the sun or a tanning bed. Thanks for the info

As for how dark you get, it's supposed to take 7 days to get to the darkest stage. In 2-3 days, FOR ME, it's BETTER THAN getting into a tanning bed, with much less light spots and a much more even, healthy looking tan, and no UV damage, apparently so long as I don't tan the next day.

I just went to a wal-mart here and it was sold out, the non-bronzing stuff was fully stocked. Must be popular during the summer

hey np. i hope it works as well for everybody else as it does for me

I am a little confused. Does this actually tan you by activating melatonin production in the skin, or does it basically "paint you"?

If one were to apply a small amount and manage to apply it evenly, is it going to look identical to a suntanned skin? Or can you always tell the difference between someone who got darker by using this and someone who actually tanned under the sun?

Thanks

I don't have the time to look up exactly how it works right now. To me, since it is completely uniform, doesn't wash off, doesn't streak or fade in weird spots, and gets my fair complexion darker than tanning every day possibly could, and costs like 5 bucks a month compared to 40-50, it's a complete replacement to UV exposure tanning, for me

It WILL change the color of your palms and the light skin on your hands and face if you're not careful, so in that way it does act like a dye, but it's not something you change on. When you put it on, you can't see it immediately. The changes to your skin happen over the next couple hours, IMO

I'm always leary of tanning lotions,,,some of them give you a orange type color. I will definitely look into this product you mention though.

Any updates? I started using this on saturday but haven't noticed any difference yet.

its only been 4 days and its starting to work. it slowly changed your skin color and doesnt look fake. it says it takes a week to fully work so i still have a few days left.

someone using should take before and after pics. just a thought.

Saw this at wal-mart yesterday and almost bought it until I found out it had tea trea oil in it.
