I'm 35 and just now figured this out lolI wish I knew this at 16. Regardless of how hard you train, how much gear you take or how dedicated you are you will always be a 10 yr old beat up base model chevy with 250k miles on it racing a new Lambo or Ferrari when you compete with anyone with superior genetics. Take that work ethic anywhere else and I can assure you will get wealthy very fast
I feel like Chris Aceto is the type of guy who would do everything in his power to stop his son from juicing too young. He was never a drug coach from what I heard.I can’t wait for the obvious question . . .
There’s a big push into natural shows. We have one here in GA now. The promoter wasn’t happy about it and essentially said he wasn’t given a choice in promoting it if he wanted to keep his pro/am show later in the year.Chris Aceto gave some insight into Farid's weekend on Heavy Muscle Radio tonight. Him and Farid had gone for sushi in Miami (time unspecified) and Farid asked about competing. Chris said sure. He asked what he thought he'd weigh on stage given he was 236lbs. at the time. Chris said 185lbs. and Farid was shocked because he thought he was lean and could compete around 217lbs. He started his diet that night and went on stage at 181.5lbs. He's thinking of doing a new NPC Natural show that's happening for the first time in November in Washington DC. NPC is trying to branch out into drug tested and natural shows.
I've cued it to start where Aceto discusses Farid.
Ive heard that he was a "what do you have? okay take a bit of that" and that being basically the long and short of his drug side of his coaching.I feel like Chris Aceto is the type of guy who would do everything in his power to stop his son from juicing too young. I dont see natural shows getting a ton of real traction. There’s a big push into natural shows. We have one here in GA now. The promoter wasn’t happy about it and essentially said he wasn’t given a choice in promoting it if he wanted to keep his pro/am show later in the year.
I don’t see them being a huge success given how big the Natural Olympia (INBA/PNBA) is in the other federations.
I know a lot of top level “natural” guys and they won’t even consider switching or doing NPC. But who knows…
I remember Jay Cutler saying in the Doucette interview that the topic of drugs never came up with Aceto. I don’t think that’s Aceto’s strength. He’s really a diet guy.Ive heard that he was a "what do you have? okay take a bit of that" and that being basically the long and short of his drug side of his coaching.
Cant remember what podcast or interviewer was saying that, maybe Jay?
yeah im probably thinking of jay mentioning it on one of the interviews, podcasts, or videos.I remember Jay Cutler saying in the Doucette interview that the topic of drugs never came up with Aceto. I don’t think that’s Aceto’s strength. He’s really a diet guy.
At that level most pro guys don’t want to listen to anyone on what gear to take and don’t. It’s half the reason coaches are dropping so many pro’s currently IMO.I remember Jay Cutler saying in the Doucette interview that the topic of drugs never came up with Aceto.
