Ummm, I think I know this one place...What was it again..Iron something...

I usually go for a spandex/cotton blend, a size too small so it fits in the waist but stretches in the upper body.

I go to the tall men/big men stores and get the sizes big enough to fit my shoulders in. Then I take them to my taylor who takes the waist in, the length, the sleeve length, etc and I end up with perferct fitting clothes.

doesn't that get kind of expensive?

doesn't that get kind of expensive?

A shirt costs me an average $120-$150 and about another $30 average to have it taylored, but I have perfect fitting clothes.

Thanks, Big A. I will have to do that. Yes it may be expensive but as you said as long as they fit and look right that is better than trying to substitute.

I buy my t shirts in Champs and Foot locker, 2 x $21 or 5 x $19, some jerseys like baseball jerseys at $50 to $90 and everytime i go to a show i buy some big t shirts, but i am not that sofisticated as Big A., i am always dressed sport or with my uniform. I like them big , i dont like tight t shirts,

bump to this.
I thought Big and Tall was an american invention franchise? ha ha!

I do just like Big A said-
I got to Big and Tall section of Hechts or Belk and get the stuff on sale.

I'll go when they are clearing out inventory and buy Ralph Lauren Chaps Polo Tommy Hilfiger IZOD etc all the name brands at 50% off then they'll tack another 25% red tag off so many times I can get a $75 shirt for under $25.
I don't like to pay full price for that stuff one time a girl of mine bought me some clothes and paid $85 per shirt and $75 per pant---I made her take that shit back. Can you imagine lecturing a woman on the importance of SALES?:D

I do this with pants too get 42-44's and taper the waist down to 36-38. Legs are big too.

It costs ~6-8$ per shirt to taper the waist and sleeves if neccessary and around 8-10$ per pant.

I got my suit from the Big and Tall store size 60 jacket and they tapered the waist and special ordered the pants ad they can't taper below 6-8 inches on the pants.

If you are short like me (under 5'10) then get the 3-4X BIG and not the 3-4X Tall The Tall will be longer in the sleeves and the shirt or you'll be tucking your shirt into your shoes! LOL;)

Clothes for big guys...

I will admit I'm older than most of you (mid forties) but I have come to a certain realization on clothes. I buy the best I can afford but fewer overall pieces. I will no longer buy things because they are on sale but a questionable fit. I buy good quality pieces and were them forever.

Shirts: Nothing looks better than a custom fit. The best solution is to get custom made pattern and order shirts that way. They are more expensive, $100 and up, but you get a fit that enhances the hard work. The second best is to buy at a full service store like a Nordstroms or Bloomingdales that will has a good tailor to tailor the shirts. All tailors and alteration people are not created equal. You need to shop around.

Pants: Good quality dress pants are made to be altered for fit. A Zanella brand pant costs $295-$330 at Nordstroms or Bloomingdales. I have had some of the same pairs for ten years, getting them altered as needed. The super 100's or super 120's weave of the pants resist staining and wrinkling and will hold up a long time. Tip: I buy these pants New With Tags off of ebay for at the most $60 and usually less. Brand new. With the tags. I also buy some Canali Shirts this way. I also have bought my Lucky Brand jeans I like off ebay, again new with tags.

It is a simple fact: Well fitting clothes change your whole look. People will tell you that you have lost weight, gotten more muscular etc. Like it or not, we are judged by how we look and dress. Your clothing and how it fits you communicate with more people every day than your mouth does. Even when you do talk, your clothes and how they fit you,are part of that 70-80% or commication that is non-verbal.

Dressing better, as well as you can, will no doubt have a positive effect on you life, sometimes in unexpected ways. Agree with it or not, people approach me differently when I have on nice pants, shirt, and maybe blazer than in my workout gear. I get opportunities that I may not otherwise have gotten. These are just my personal thoughts.

***BUMP***

ANYONE ELSE??? I HAVE ALWAYS WONDERED THIS WHERE DO Y'ALL SHOP.. ESPECIALLY FOR PANTS.

It's not easy finding clothes for women bodybuilder either. I have to try on umteen million clothes to find one thing to fit. Fits in the waist... too tight in the back and shoulder. Then I've got to find pants that fit over my quads but are not too big in the waist. Custom fit is going to be the only way to get clothes to fit.

Having clothes that fit really makes a difference in how you feel. Right now everything I own is too damn small and I feel like a cow! :(

More workout geat at GetGASP.com

In addition to the GASP clothes that you've seen all over the hardcore guys for years now, we just added the BETTER BODIES line... made by the same folks. Better Bodies stuff is now published for the guys. Tomorrow sometime we'll open the gates for the women's stuff (it needs its own special look... some ladies require that!).

Swellin... are you the same Swellin as the one at MassUniverse? Let me know when you get the women's wear going.

I usually go for a spandex/cotton blend, a size too small so it fits in the waist but stretches in the upper body.

The 94% cotton 6% dow spandex blend are awsome shirts to workout i and really comfortable....Calvin Klein's 2xl shirts are awsome....

Yes I do the same thing.

For casual clothes I get Diesel Jeans which I get custom tailored, then usually a Nike golf shirt (they come stretchy and over sized, so they actually fit well and they are tapered.)
