I don’t see a lot of people mentioning coconut oil for digestive/gut health, even though it seens that it has a lot of benefits.

For example:

It's too high in calories for you. You need to get your body fat down from 18% to 10-12% before adding in any additional fats.

In the meantime, get a bottle of this and take 1 teaspoon 3x a day on an empty stomach or before you eat.

 
I sometimes throw MCT oil, which is derived from coconut, in my shakes if I need extra calories and am way outside the Slin window.
 
If you’re simply trying to use it for gut health purposes then take monolaurin which is derived from coconut oil and does most of the work.

Coconut oil is still high in saturated fats. I personally only use it as a non stick spray for cooking.
 
Coconut oil is a scam. Complete waste of calories.


 
My Dr recently got rid of all his omega 3's and switched to saturated fats and part of his business in base around anti-aging. When he told me my reply was i think all fats have their place. It is just the right proportions of each have not been adequately identified to really know what is the healthiest. We all have an opinion and hope it plays out well.
 
The "boom" for coconut oil has long since passed after people realized that it is basically only saturated fatty acids and it does not contain any minerals etc. that would make its use beneficial.

although as you can see, history comes full circle and this shit will probably come back into fashion again soon lol
