whats the best color system you guys have used? protan, dream tan, now i keep hearing about jantana again. how do you guys apply? how many coats ect??

Look into Olympic Tan, It's the same color as Protan but comes in a mousse. Very easy to apply (10x's faster than protan), and doesn't blur you out like dream tan can. You can even rinse off after each application and you'll still be dark. It's fairly new so do a search. hope this helps.

For my show I am looking into Olympic tan as hardkor is saying...But if you go pro tan then I suggest doing a coat a day 4 days out from the show...The night before the show apply a coat and also on the morning of....The most important thing to me is the oil you use for going onstage...spam I think sucks and I am going to look for something different...It makes you to dam greasy looking..

I usually use Protan. But this past weekend I decided to try the new Jan Tana On Stage Competition Color (it is a mousse). I put about 5-6 applications on. It was much easier to apply than protan, less messy - but the more color I put on...the splotchier the tan got. . Reason being the Jan Tana is a paint where Protan is a stain. The good thing about the Jan tana is it came right off as soon as I showered....but I think I like the LOOK of protan best. Next time I will use Protan.

im going with a coat of protan thurs night after i shave. then sleep on it, shower and rinse, and shave your face if you have to. then continue to apply a coat and rinse, until you have the desired color. i possibly will top it off sat morning with jantana comp color.

you can rag the first couple coats of protan than you might want to use the sponge brush to blend. jantana also has these little applicator sponges that work awesome.

Once I start applying color....I dont shower. I just keep on paintin!

The two shows I have done I have put on three coats of protan Friday night, one more saturday morning and then put on a coat of dream tan #2.

Dream Tan actually has a stain out like Protan and I bought a few bottles and will be running a few tests on it two weeks out to see if I want to use that instead of protan for my stain....

i find that protan kinda starts rolling and balling up after continuous coats. then inturn gets matted down and blotches up. hence rinse of the excess. not wash just rinse.
