You aren't the first. I had a friend do the exact same thing. Precision gear tears part of the metal collar of when you remove the lid so this guy removed the whole thing. That had me laughing for a while!

I think all of us do something like this eventually,,,I've busted amps,,vials. It happens. Just be more careful is all you can do.

Same here, i've broken plenty of amps and vial tops over the years. I had a run of a few weeks where i shattered a few amps every week. Then i bought one of those cutters.

I hear a lot of bros breaking amps, how r u all doing this? I score the neck with a straight razor, before, than holding the base in my left hand, take a wash cloth in the right hand and snap the neck of the amp off with one quick motion. Now occasionally the neck broke into a few pieces and a piece of glass fell into the amp. where I had to run it through a filter, but never have broken an amp when trying to open.

the best thing ive found for amps razor knife score and an empty bic pen plastic fits perfect and i always keep a few xtra pop off tops around for loose or broken collars lucky i work in medical glass factory
