SO i was reading this post off of a really old board about dc training. I was wondering about the technique.. here is the quote i found.

"RH: Could you walk the readers through a set, DC style? Let’s assume the person is properly warmed up and ready to do a set on say, close-grip lat pulldowns.
D: They would explosively pull it down to the chest and then on the negative return they would resist (control) on the way up. I don't want specific seconds, or a certain time amount, I just want control on the negative to the point if they had to, they could easily reverse direction. They would keep going to the point in the set where they would reach failure, hopefully between rep 7 and 10. At that point, they would take 10-15 deep breaths (usually 22 seconds or somewhere in that area) and then start the exercise again and go to failure once again . Then another 10-15 deep breaths. And then once again to failure. During the rest pauses you do not stay strapped to the bar or anything, you take your 10-15 deep breaths and then get back in there. Oxygen is the key here. What I'm looking for in a restpause set usually is a 11-15 rest pause total (with 3 failure points in that set). That usually comes out to something like 8 reps (failure) ...10-15 breathes....4 reps (failure)....10-15 breathes.... 2 reps (failure) = 14 rp. (hypothetically a total of 11-15 rest paused reps is what im after)."

This leads me to believe that a negative is done after every rep?? Is this true?? I have read a lot of stuff on it and all i have read is the one after failure is the negative..
Thanks guys..

with DC, you use a controlled negative on each rep, it doesnt have to be super slow or anything, the goal is to keep the negative controlled enough to where you would be able to reverse the direction of the rep at any point if you wanted to...control is the focus, so youre not just letting the weight fall on the negative portion like many people do, youre the keeping the weight in the muscle on the negative, but i wouldnt say it is the same as performing intentional negative reps..if that makes sense

Yes.....

What was posted was the correct answer to your question You are right in your thinking though. It has been written by Dante that at the end of each portion of the rp set to end on a negative when able to. So say on incline bench knock out your 8 reps, rack the weight in the negative position. Then restart the next set in the positive position, hit 4 reps, then rack in the negative position. Doing this becomes very difficult when working out alone, cuzz you have to move the weight yourself.
However remember this is only part of the puzzle.

Ya i know its only part.. I got the others under me i m pretty sure.. Im about 290 6'81/2 6'9 14-15% bf been lifting a good long while.. Eat like a horse (all clean) and am VERY motivated.. I would like to weigh 330 or so and look like the guy in my avatar (Noah Steere) he is nearly 6'8.. But ultimately its not the weight its how you look.. MONSTEROUS!!!! :D

Thanks again guys
