Depositing old needles in plastic protein jugs

Does anyone else use there old protein jugs to dispose of their old needles? I always did this and then duct taped them shut so the garbage worker wont get stuck ever. Also you don't risk anyone seeing them in the trash one by one.

Just thought I'd ask/tell this as it is a convenience to me.

Yes I store mine in a protein jug, but I do the responsible thing and dispose of them legally. I recommend you do the same.

I called my state waste management and they said personal use syringes sould be placed in a hard plastic container such as laundry detergent bottle an thrown in the trash.

Check your local laws. You migh be doing it right.

Same. They ask that you write "Sharps, DO NOT RECYCLE" on the container.

I use to sell them to bums on the street to reuse, trying to save the environment and all, but now I give them to a pharmacy (in a protein jug) and they dispose of them properly.

I put them in a protein jug, and write Sharp needles- user has AIDs and go by the nearest Hospital and dump it in their garbage

I figure if someone is dumb enough to find a protien jug at the land fill that has been mummified in duct tape,pry it open somehow,then reach in and grab a handfull of needles......well,let's just say that person probably had it coming,in fact, that person should do the world a favor and kill themselves right then and there. Definately don't want to be in violation of any laws disposing of needles one just used shooting up illegal drugs!!!

Just buy the disposable needle containers . They go for like $3 dollars...
