Vander, what happened to your fellow Piston fans last night? Actually, even though the fans went crazy Ron Artest is a nut. This is the same guy who wanted time off to promote his rap album--he doesnt even want to be in the NBA. It was still a pretty scary site. Oh and their next meeting is on Christmas Day in Indiana--Happy Holidays! Good Day

those fans are freaking out of their minds. did you see the one fan who wanders out onto the court just to get punched right in the face by one of the players. seriously out of control. have not seen a malay like that in some time. i wonder who is going to jail (one of the fans) and who is going to get fines (players)

Go Pacers!

Big ups to my boys Jermaine Oneal and Ron Artest! Detroit couldnt handle the ass whooping they were getting so Ben Wallace had to start some drama. Did anyone see the fan who got KO'd by Jermaine Oneal  ?

If you take a look at the video again you will see that it was Artesticle and not Wallace that started the whole fight. When Artest fouled Wallace; he comitted the foul with his right hand, but his left hand pushed Wallace in the back in an obviously intentional cheap shot. All Wallace did was respond by pushing Artest back. There is no place for that in basketball and I can't blame the fans for being upset. I am not saying that they were justified in throwing stuff on the court at Artest, but what I am saying is that Artest is responsible for initiating the whole thing.

I disagree. There was a foul by Artest...however it was the HARD shove in retalliation by Wallace that started the whole incident. Artest then goes and lays across the scouring table trying to let the whole thing play out trying to remove himself from the incident and here comes Ben Wallace AGAIN throwing a towel in Ron's face. Then the fans join in and all hell breaks loose. I dont blame Artest or Wallace...I blame Detroits poor ass security.

The point I was trying to make is that you stated, "Detroit couldnt handle the ass whooping they were getting so Ben Wallace had to start some drama". It wasn't Wallace that started the whole drama it was Artest. That hard shove by Wallace was in response to Artest's shoving Wallace first. While the media is having fun showing the incident over and over again, they have spent little time showing the actual foul from a posterior camera angle. If you watch that video, you will see that Artest shoved Wallace in the back with his left hand(it was the right hand that the foul was called on). There is a huge difference between a good hard foul and an intentional foul with malicious intent. When I first saw the incident, I felt the same way you did and didn't understand Wallace's over-reaction. However, when you view the foul from behind Wallace, you get a whole different perspective. Again, I am not justifying Wallace's actions, but it was Artest that initiated the whole thing with his shove in Wallace's back.

D-TOWN BABY AAHAHAHAHA that was some funny ass shit gotta love it :p

Beleive me bro, I've seen this brawl at every angle, zoom, speed, that you can possibly imagine today. Artest did indeed foul Wallace, and throw a shove with that left hand. I play pickup games every Thursday night with a man who is 67 years old that throws fouls harder than that! I do beleive that Ben Wallace fueled the fire and blew things wayyyy out of proportion. Fact is I think Ben was a lil sore that the Pacer's handed their ass to them 97-82.

Big Ups to my Pacers! They lost by a point tonight with 7 players dressed. Artest is a nut, but I don't blame him for jumping at the fan. If I was lying on my back in a prone position and someone hit me in the face with a plastic cup or bottle full of beer, I would jump up as fast as he did.

One of the funniest things Ive ever seen in my life though was the fight in the stands where the Pacer's Jones is starting to scrap and gets clocked upside the head by someone in the audience from behind. He turns around expecting to fight a guy 5'10" 175 and the guy pummeling him is this monstrous black guy in the audience that Im estimating is about 6'4" 400lbs, I mean this guy is a freaking mountain......the look on Jones's face was "oh shit!" I downloaded the video on Kazaa lite and every time i see that part its just too hilarious. Anyone catch that part? Its always on the left hand side of the screen when they show artest fighting in the stands

i work in a security buisness and what i saw was very good security for what was happening all over the arena (which is what most people did not see), there were dozens of fights that broke out at the same time up 100 people throwing punches...there were about 75-100 security people on duty (and women are part of that force)...they are scattered all over the arena...when the fight broke out you had about 15 in that area the rest had to come over form as far away as the other side of the court, the halls and the tunnels leadign into stands ...as they fought their way across the courts other fights broke out on the court and in the stands that they had to attend and break up..

They were out numbered by a bunch of out of control animals who are an embarassment to sports fans in every field.I am sure these are the same people who riot after games, during "hell night",and for what ever reason they can find...they are clearly undeserving of season tickets or even 1 game ticket...These fans got exactly what they deserved when they tossed a drink, cup, chair or a punch or even that "DUMBFATTASS" who wondered out onto the court looking of trouble...

All Ara"test" had to do was point the guy out who toss the cup at him to the cops and have him tossed out of the stands and take his beef up with Wallace later ...They get paid way too much money to react like they did....It clearly shows me that they are street thugs who have no respect for the fans, themselves or each other..they are gang members who have a different set of rules and laws then the rest of us have to follow. Can you imagine what woudl happen if you or i beat the shit out of a co-worker... Better start looking for a new job, a law suit and a box to live in when they take your house...These guys are so pretected and young kids see this and react the same way..

They all should be suspended for the rest of the season "without PAY" or atleast 30 or more games, even fired from the NBA...This is not what we want to see or even need to view as fans who make $40,000 or less and drop a weeks paycheck to go see them play...these goofs make a years salary in 3 hours and are so ungrateful.. ego's do not belong in sports..confiedence and self assuerence is what we need..not this show boating ,tough guy mantality..find a new job boys..

i have to deal with football, basketball, wrestlers, lacrosse players you name it...75% of them have egos and attitudes i can not handle in the bar..they walk in like they own the joint and treat patrons like dirt talking and looking down at them..i have no problem throwing them out each night when they talk/act like assholes...a regulars bar goers will pat me on the back and say thanks or even help when they get mouthy and do not want to leave..i walk every guy out so he has his dignity and tell him to step out and cool off and comeback the next night...the minute they try to play me for a fool or some rent a cop the gloves come off and they go out kickin' like a spoiled brat..

i ranted enough, point is "no one has the right to act like they did friday... fans, players anyone..."All should be punished like we would in the real world ..Plenty of great talents out there who can play the game and be "true" role models for adults as well as kids...not these bully thugs we pay millions to each year...i'm out

Well, Artest is out for the season. SO now he can go promote his album. I am sure it will do well, hehe.
You make some valid points bulldog. They are paid very well and should be professional enough not to react like that. I don't know if I have that kind of restrain. Many times I do, but catch any of us on the right day, and we'd all probably go after the guy like Artest did.

i am glad that the league saw it like i did and handed down some pretty hard but fair penelties to all involved..the bad acts by fans wil be next but they will get hit hard too with charges and fines....GOOD JOB NBA , WELL DONE !!!

Ron Artest suspended for the rest of season

Stephen Jackson suspended for 30 games

Jermaine Oneal suspended for 25 games

Anthony Jackson suspended for 5 games

Ben Wallace suspended for 6 games

Reggie Miller, Chauncey Phillips, Elden Cambell, and Derrick Coleman all received 1 game suspensions.

Let me add as a side note that i live and work in Syracuse,NY hometown of Carmelo Anthony...he is put on a pedastool as a great guy with innocents...i can tell you for a fact that he is like most guys in teh NBA when it comes to a certain life style outside of the court...he used to come into the club and drink his fill of alcohol with his buddies, start fights with patrons smoke pot in the parking lot during the night...

when he got his multi-million dollar contract he came back after his first season to visit friends and family and went out toa local upper class bar....ran up a $585 dollar bar tab and all the owner asked for was for him to take a picture and sign 3 basketballs and he would call his tab even...Carmelo leaned over to his driver and told him to pull the car up front "NOW" and told the owner he would sign anything that he was going to let his buddies know he would be a few more minutes...

Carmelo then made his way to the front of the bar and when his cell phone rang to let him know the car was ready to go...we spotted him trying to get out of the club silently and running to his car we cut him and 4 friends off at the curb..called the owner outside and all Carmelo could say was "he was coming out to get a pen"...He was going to be charged with theft of services if he did not pay in full...his friends pooled together $585 and left within minutes...Carmelo didn't have more then $50 in his pocket while he ran up a $585 bar tab.....

Lebron

I'll add my info on Lebron James who just bought a house in my old neighborhood and he grew up in a neighboring town. This kid is a class act who puts the things that matter first in his lift. His mother, girlfriend, son and basketball. You wont find him getting in any off the court or on the court trouble anytime soon. He is dedicated to bringing a winner to Cleveland and PLEASE Lebron, bring us a winner lol--I just want one before I die in baseball, football or basketball---just one!!

A few things you may have overlooked...

Fellas, don't forget that it was ARTEST, that was awarded the NBA's Defensive MVP, NOT Wallace (whom most people thought should have won it) despte Wallace's huge contributions to the Title they won. And he also had 18 blocks in 1 game. Wallace was really annoyed about it, and publicly made that very apparant. So in response, Artest said a few choice things about Wallace. Bottom line is, these dudes hate each other, this is personal. So the Pistons were losing, Artest was still being a pest and Wallace got frustrated. So what if ya got fouled Ben, you are supposed to be tough remember? He had enough and reacted. He snapped and CHECKED Artest hard. That was stupid, but it does happen from time to time in the league. Then Wallace fueled the fire by throwing his sweaty garb at Artest. The fans were FUCKED up for doing what they did, and I really don't blame artest. Think about it. He already is a very competative athlete (being named def. MVP --- you have to be) he gets checked hard by his nemesis, then while trying to cool down, Wallace throws shit at him, then a glass hits him in the face? I would have snapped too. SECURITY WAS SHIT PERIOD. REFS were idiots.

artest

Artest was not trying to get away from everything when he went and laid on the broadcasters table--he wanted to piss people off and he did. Artest is a thug and a a disgrace to the NBA. He deserved his season long suspension. Does something need to be done about the fans? Of course, but you do NOT go into the crowd.
