Dispelling excercise Fallacies...

Anyone have input into an excercise (s) that has been deemed worthy of doing cause it does this or that..

ex: Chins are best for back width..i found high bench seated rows
....barbell bench is best for chest..i found dumbell bench
..concentration curls are best for peaks on biceps...i found preacher curls or spider curls

Just a few thoughts or feedback is welcome...i have found that most excercise and their effectiveness totally depends on the individual and their muscle make-up...and their form..

I dont do them and will never really train them, if one does they have the chance of making them hypertrophy and grow and giving the waist a larger wider illusion. Which in BBing is a no no. Train abs but not obliques

ACTUALLY i feel it all depends on the individual. I like Barbell better than dumbell bench, no exercise is gonna give you "peak" you have it or you dont. Sure itl improve over time as the muscle gets bigger but your not gonna change the shape of the muscle a whole lot.

Oh and as far as back width, thats proven to be scalpulae munipulation and stretching, not muscle growth :D (although more teres development could enhance the effect to a small extent)

very true, its so hard to label any exercise and say its the best for this, in reality it has to be suited for that person to be the best exercise for them. I think factors like the length of your arms, and your flexability have a big role. I know personally I cannot do lat pulls behind the head, my neck just wont bend good even with supper light weight, so for me lat pulls to the front are way better then the back..

Well theres lots of ways i dont really have any pix on here i could put up for you though. Basicly go for a big stretching feeling, the kind of stretch you feel when you do a lat spread really really hard. Kinda like you feel like your shoulders are being pulled out of their sockets on the stretching portion of a back movement and you feel it all the way in your shoulder blades. I dont think im doing a good job describing this lol, someone help
 
when stretching lats a good pole reach is good...stand in front of a pole,rack or machine and grab it with one hand and slowly lower your body till you start to feel the pull in your lats...or grab a seated cable row machine and let the weight of the beginning excercise pull your lats out as well.....
