If you check my history I have been posting here for a while so I am not an advertiser in the least bit, but I do have something for you all.

I was told of the wonders of resistence training and power sets in comparison to the five days a week of overloading that I was doing. I was hesitent to try until recently, over a year later.

I was taken to a gym here in town, to give my opinion on the equipment. I was given no prior knowledge to what would be there, just they wanted ym opinion. So I went and it changed my world.

The studio is called MaxOut and is located in Winter Park, FL. Google will find it under Strength Studio Winter Park, FL.

The equipment thier is designed by the director of orthopedics at Shands hospital in Gainesville, and UF and UCF now use it.

The way it works is that all machines are free weights hooked upp to pully machines hooked up to computers....huh? We for instance you have a full bench with a full bar and free weights. You stack the bar with four times your normal limit. You lower the weight, and at the bottom of the movement the computer kicks in and lifts to 85% of your max. So say 400 on the way down and 100 on the way up. Squats 1000 on the way down 200 on the way up. Thier is a "machine" for every muscle group.

The average, and we are no means average, person can only work out thier once a week. I find for me that an upper body and lower body day with one weak point day in the gym is more than enough.

I hav egained 15% in all areas in the last 3 months. I must tell you that I am starting working for them in two weeks as their marketing director. I will offer any person on here a free workout any time they want if you are in Orlando. I ask nothing in return just your thoughts as we are still perfecting this equipment with each use.

Bump that, would give it a go.............

YES, the negative (lowering) portion of any excercise is always more important than the raising portion.

IT has been proven in multiple studies

The reason why? Because when you lower the weight - preferably in a controlled and slow manner- is when you actually tear your muscle fibers on the microscopic level.

This damage is what causes your body to repair and rebuild these muscles stronger than they were before (in hopes to protect itself against another similar fate the next time you train).

I'm sure it will be years before a gym like this comes to my area, if ever but what does membership cost if you mind me asking? Is this type of training dangerous? This seems like a more advanced way of doing what a lot of younger lifters do, using a weight way too heavy and using your friends to give you a spot from the first rep on. Sounds very interesting though, do you have any pics of the machines?

MaxOut

The name of the gym is going to be calle MaxOut fitness. Once we get this first one going we are coming nationwide in a three year plan. One of my princapel investors is the leading donator to the University of Florida. The gym has been open for over 3 years, but the guy running it was the doctor Mike McMichlen, and he had no marketing sense, so in turn no one found out about it.

It is indeed real, and again it is a completely open invatation.

Someone asked about gaining on the negative, and I am looking for the study, but Oxford or Harvard study on body mechanics shows that 60% of muscle gain is through the negative. More (and this is from the doc) the "severe overload" causes construction of denser "in our world fuller loooking" muscles. That is for you to decide, but I can tell you this. I worked out 5 days a week for eight years and was only slightly soar after good days. I do this and I feel the burn in everyting.

Pricing

The pricing is not for everyone I will admit. You have a personal trainer with you at all times as of right now. The way some of the "machines" are developed (like for curls) you use stacks. The design lets you use two pins. As your declining 200 you're are lifting 50 than 40 than 30 without breaking your set.

Pricing is broken down into packages or individual sessions

$50 a session

$130 for four sessions

$200 for a couple or pair

For those with expierence we let them work out together without an instructor during the day for less. The hardcore's usually come during the day and the stock brokers come in the evening.

If you have gyms in your area that have personal training studios or know personal trainers that are looking for something like this have them contact me at that email.

Things are going so quick I can't even keep my head on straight.

I've been waiting for this for 15 yrs. I wish I was in a position to come to work for you guys. Marketing this shit is a dream job but finding the average Joe that wants to push that hard will be tough. Not too many people want to get 'too big'.

Brilliant idea however, I think the price of the sessions will keep most people who do want to get big from being able to take advantage of it.:(

I would love to try one of these out!! ill shoot u an email!

it would be neat to see videos of this with an explanation.

any chance you can do this and throw em up on youtube?
