Ever go in the gym and get ZERO fatigue, pump or burn in a muscle?

Like you do set after set and you reach failure. You push as hard as you can, stay intense but at the end of the set the weight just stops moving for some unkown reason. the pump or burn or fatigue is never felt in the muscle.

I did this today on chest and did extra sets until I could not lift much weight but honestly I don't feel like i worked chest at all.

Hours later I finally feel a sort of fatigue ion the muscle that I can't describe but not like a worked muscle, just worn out.

Sorry this is hard to put into words... I know others have had this happen from time to time. For me it is usually chest or back once every few months.

The idea is to have a plan when you go to the gym and work that plan. Just because you did not walk out with your tail between your legs does not mean your training was not effective! Perhaps your MIND was not on the job that day!! Also since when does not feeling good after a workout equate to a bad workout? I was told once that a great workout is the one you walk away from feeling like you could do it all over again.......................does this mean you should??? NO. Does it mean you did not train well?? NO!! We all have good days and then better days in the gym. Just a fact of life for us.

EDIT.......on another note you probably did too much that day anyway!!

No pump could be lack of sodium, dehydrated, extremely depleted, etc. There's a reason behind it and it's probably diet/nutrition related.

Everybody has off days once in a while. It only seems to happen to me when I either screw up my nutrition plan or don't get enough sleep at night. Like vtliftvt said, watch your nutrition, sodium and water can play a big part in the pump, as well as the strength of the muscular contraction.
