I've used 1 year expired novalog many times, works great.

The expiration date is likely just for bacteria concerns (bacteria grows easier in water based inflatables), but it's probably fine.

Just do 20iu, don't eat, and if you don't post again, we know it was good.

What about 4 years expired? Don't worry I know the answer My mate gave it to me about 2 years ago. I was gutted when I saw the date. It looks all fancy it's leather case (humapen luxura).

What I don't get is why ely Lilly days you need to refrigerate a vial but not a kwikpen, don't see the difference.

Yea, I had growth hormone on my brain. I read it fast and was thinking Norditropin for some odd reason. Guess I should not be typing things when doing a few different things at once, Sorry knight.

I would say it is totally fine. I am a type 1 diabetic and I honestly don't believe much about the exp date on insulin unless its opened of course. i have used insulin that was expired well over a year before and i didn't see a difference, i would notice if weaker because my sugar would rise if less potent. worst case its a little weaker

I'm type 1 also and have used expired insulin. I've actually used insulin that has been expired by a year and opened sitting in my fridge for a few months when I ran out and had to get a refill but needed to eat. It was a little weaker but it did the job. I'll keep some of my old vials that has a little left in it around as a back up sometimes as an emergcy back up for whatever reason.

If it was kept cold I bet you its good. My pops was a diabetic (CHARLIE and he was a tight ass when it came to spending $$$ so he used expires insulin all the time. It was always in the fridge and we monitored his numbers religiously.
One tip I always suggest is too never use insulin if you dont have a glucose meter. They are a MUST!!

I've used expired log before and it was noticeably weaker but still did its job. Had to adjust doses accordingly tho...A long as its clear and not cloudy I would think it should be g2g

I'm a pharmacist so I hope that lends me some credibility on this. Without knowing the conditions the insulin was stored in, I personally would junk it. You can buy regular insulin at any pharmacy without a script. 18 months gone isn't alarming, but it is 18 months of "I wonder if..." Not worth it in my eyes mate. Go get yourself some fresh stuff for 35 bucks a vial.
