expired vitamins

So I have a bottle of expired Vitamin D, expiration is 2018. They are the lil gel Vitamin D, and they still look light yellowish. Are these still good to take or do vitamins actually degrade pretty quickly?

I know with pharmaceuticals those are good for decades.

and no i wouldnt take the one you have because the oil in the gelcap is probably rancid

They are dirt cheap, toss em. I don't even use expired gear although the consensus is that it's fine.

The army did a study years ago that showed drugs generally last many years past their expiration date. I often use drugs past their date as an expiration date just guarantees them until that date. It is not the date they start to degrade. But unless you are broke i would not use cheap stuff that is well past it's date.

D3 is some of the cheapest stuff to buy. I'll be the first to call BS on expiration dates but for under 15 bucks you can likely reup for a few years supply and totally legal zero risk.
