Facts on Fructose

Lots of fruits have an GI of 50 which is totally acceptable. I eat fructose even on diet to 4%... it's the last carb i keep with brow rice.

No doubts that a BB diets should contains at least 4 fruits/days.

And after you watch that read this......

Wow....lots to think about there...thx for sharing.

I know that since switching to fruits and sweet potatoes as my carb source I get
leaner more easily than if I use brown rice and oats , but I know a guy that is totally opposite.

I did a bunch of blood glucose test on myself and found the differance to be totally insignificant between brown rice and fruit

Skynett Awesome link. There was definitely some good stuff to take from, we should also always hear both sides off the story. But you should also note the writter of that article is blogging his opinions and not to mention isn't an edocrinoligist or doctorate of any sort. so I don't think he holds much weight when talking next to a specialist, this is of course my opinion. Everyone will have their own :D

Where are your ancestors from vs his?

Fructose GI of 20 is a lie, it goes to liver glycogen first so it doesn't raise bloodsugar as well, however it is very fast digesting, ask any type I diabetic.

That being said, I still think fruit is a great carb source, also most fruit is not all fructose. A banana for example is half glucose and half fuctose.

GI doesn't mean shit basically, it's what you eat WITH the carbs that matters the most.

Mine is from north western Europe mostly , Sweden , Norway region.
his mom is super Hispanic and his dad is super Italian so I'm gonna say his background is very Mediterranean

a little fat with your carbs makes a huge differance!!

Absolutely - and Lustig has good things to say in that piece for sure, just that some of it can be a bit alarmist in nature. Aragon is a nutritionist with a masters in nutrition science, and is known for being a meticulous researcher who tends to be very pragmatic and balanced in his approach. But yes in the end it's just an opinion too. I wouldn't say he doesn't hold much weight with Lustig though - he is a nutritionist with a high level degree in the field.

I think it's obvious that fruit is very good for you, and you should probably eat it daily within reasonable portions, as long as you aren't 3 weeks out - and even then some lifters can fit it in no problem.

I doubt anyone on The Biggest Loser hit 600 pounds from eating too many apples, right? lol....but HFCS is in so many products, and is something people should be aware of for sure.

I'm not sold on HFCS being the devil either , it's a good scape goat simply because it is in everything , well everything that cheap and has convience. I don't think so much the the US has a major obesity problem because of what foods are eaten as much as how much , modern society has gotten very lazy and money is tight for most !!
a double quarter pounder meal super sized is what $6 a decient salad with chicken on it is $10 !!
who the fuck WANTS to go home a prepair a meal , even 3 days a week? damn sure not your average working. mom and dad

Well I agree with you there - even HFCS in measured amounts isn't going to kill anyone. It really is about balance and personal resposibility, but people need a nutritional boogieman to explain away the gluttony and laziness that is at the root of it all.

Lol - in the 80's it was fat being demonized, now it's carbs and grains, and to a lesser extent even fructose. The reality is a sedentary lifestyle combined with excessive, highly processed, energy dense food consumtion is what drives obesity for the most part.
