Filtering question

I have read on another board that that oils should be filtered with a .45 pore size because oil is to thick to flow through a .22 pore size filter. And to get the oil through the .22 filter people put too much preasure and cause the contaminants to be forced through as well.

I have read it only one place and everything else I have read suggest that you need to use a .22 filter to get the harmful bacteria.

Is it possible to defeat a .22 filter by placing too much preasure on it? Thanks for any comments.

Not really but I would go with the .45 for anything oil based

Most I know use the .45 micron, but the smaller ones are safer. Some people like the added security. I personally know of nobody that has had issues with the .45 micron. The smaller ones are very slow to filter, and yeah if you push too hard you will blow it out.
