In the early nineties I was what they call an up and comer with loads of "potential" I never made it to the stage. I got married instead and we started having kids. I never stopped going to the gym and lifting but my focus was on family and building my career. I had and have no regrets but through the years there was always that what if or what could have been. Finally when my life became a little more settled I decided I would take the stage. It just so happened I was 36 years old at the time. One thing that I realized was I was a much better bodybuilder in my what if or what could of been fantasys then I was in real life. I finished last in a novice class that had about 10 guys. I was horrible and clueless and I guess I could of walked away then and there and retired to the safety of my cubicle. I haven't and I keep showing up every year and I feel I get a little better each time. This year I made the best investment ever and hired Phil Hernon. The next time I step on stage (Sept 13) I will by that time have turned 40. Thanks to Phil I am confident that the best version of myself ever will step on stage that night.
