What are most of you drinking during your workout session (not cardio-just lifting)? I've been drinking diluted about 3/4 of a scoop of powdered Gatorade in 1.5 litres of water. Is this neccessary, would blood sugar levels drop enough where you would need gatorade or similar to keep them up in a traditional lifting session? or is plain water all that is needed?
 
1.5 l of water. If I'm not dieting and didn't eat a lot before my workout, I sometimes drink a non-caffeined coke.
 
While going low carb I have a protien shake pre, during and after my workout. Maybe Im paranoid, I thinks its carefull, I Just want to cover all bases and have aminos available all the time when lifting.

same here, the water fills me out for the workout..
 
LBA's pre and post. About 2.5-3ltrs of water while training. Water is what fuels muscular contraction. The more you have on board the more you lift the harder you train.
 
thanks for the replies. I have been doing Gatorade but I'm thinking it's probably just carbs I can save for post workout instead of having it during. I'm going to switch to plain water and see what happens.

PRIMAL EAA IS GOOD AND ITS KIND OF PRICEY..
THIS IS MY NEW PRE/DURING/POST WORKOUT DRINK

2 scoops xpand
3 sc ammino shooter (this has EAA AND BCAA) DUSTY CHECK OUT THIS DRINK
10GR GLUTAMINE

drink about half of it before and sip on the rest during workout.

when i finish that its a protein shake with around 50gr protein and 75 gr carbs
 
30min before training:
1 scoop whey
10g BCAAs
5g creatine
50g Maltodextrin

During training:
10g BCAAs
5g L-Leucine
50g Waxy Maize
(mixed in 1 liter water)

Yes. I drink 25g whey and 30g vitargo pre. 60g whey and 75g vitargo post. Once I added the BCAA's DURING the workout my recovery time was cut in half. What I do is add a serving to about 1/3 gallon of water so that I can barely even taste the amino's that I'm drinking during the workout.
 
Water is the best I think. I drink up to two liter per work out. Read this:
"Water is a major component of the human body. In fact, according to experts, more than 70 percent of muscle is water. With this in mind, it stands to reason that the more water your muscles can hold, the bigger and stronger they will become. Protein is hydrophilic, meaning it attracts and holds water. When you consume protein, muscle tissue, which is made of protein, will attract and hold more water. And this is exactly where you want the water to be held, in the intercellular spaces or inside the tissues of your muscles. You don't want water to be held in the subcutaneous spaces, which are over the muscle and under the skin; this causes a condition known as edema. So drink plenty of water and watch your muscles grow."
