For those of you who've measured free test using different assays.

What variability do you see in something like a standard direct Free test lab vs Equilibrium Dialysis?

I've never tested free testosterone until recently (no bully) ; was fortunate enough to pull a dialysis assay (it's supposedly a more accurate predictor, tedious too) and readings came back pretty high.

400 mgs of test:
Free Test: 973 pg/ml (ref range: 35-155)
Total T: 3008 ng/dl

I know Stewie in the past has mentioned variability between different forms when discussions came up on it and why there's variability in guys (there is difference in what testing method is used). I'm wondering if there's consensus on how much that is, and if that is a bigger reason than genetics (cuz I ain't no genetic freak, that's for sure :)

I’m not sure about what you’re asking, but all I know is I envy your numbers lol

Recently got Tested for Total and Free Test and my numbers were 312 Total and 67 Free... Both on the lower end of normal and I feel like absolute garbage 10 weeks off of self TRT... Urologist wants me to go another 2 months and see how I feel and get retested and decide if I can go on Legit TRT.. A

The lower levels that some guys run across for free t is more variability in accuracy caused by the type of method used for testing; rather than genetics specifically.

Dante's observation of genetically elite guys having free T is probably very accurate; guy's looked at hundreds of blood tests, and superior drug metabolism is a hallmark of pros. But maybe some guys get numbers that aren't as accurate... (thinking they are lower than they actually are)?
