how good are the for size compared to leg press? and in general for size?
Muscle and fitness did a test where they would use an MRI to see excercise induced micro-trauma to determine the best/most effective excercise for each body part.
Front sqauts were more effective than back sqauts, leg press etc...for targeting qauds.
Ronnie Coleman always claimed that before this article was written or testing was ever done.
So they are great!!
I love front squats, but for me they are a finishing exercise. I do them after I back squat, to really pump the quads.
I just can't stabilize the weight properly when I get enough weight on the bar. It's difficult to keep the bar across your clavicles, and my wrists are not flexible enough to use a clean grip.
I would worry about over taxing my lower back doing them after back squats.
Absolutely. It is tough on the lower back. If dbol is involved, it's crippling!
