GEAR AND THE HEAT

OK, I had a friend ask me this question and I did not know the answer so I figure I would ask for him. His other told him he had to get his books outta the house. So he went to a friend and they stored it. Well the facility has air cooled which is a swamp cooler not ac. The temp gets between 80-85 degrees. The room is a 5x10 and it has no light.
I know the directions say store at room temp and keep out of sunlight. My concern for him is the heat as I am not sure if it is a factor since the books are not in sunlight. Any feedback would be of help. ALL books r sealed both kinds L&O both.

Are you worried about the ink fading? Put them in sealed cases like the museum does and they'll be good for thousands of years.

He said they were sealed and out of the sunlight-his concern was the heat. I don't think he was worrying about anything fading.

I can't imagine 85 deg causing the 'ink' to become unsolvable or ruined.

No, gear is quite heat resistant (any homebrewer can attest to that). The most important thing is to keep it out of the light, especially sunlight.

Aside from that it will be OK.

So basically I take it it will be ok buty it has to be out of sunlight correct. Yes it is in a 5x5room with a swamp cooler and it gets anywhere between 80-85 maybe 90 at times. But this room is on the inside just not air conditioned. Thanks, Terry

if you can stand in the room without dying, the temp of the room is fine..
