German Volume Training

It's pretty good but its fairly boring and you have to be conservative with the weights you pick.

Don't be tempted to pick 2 exercises 5 sets each instead it's the actual 10 sets of the same exercise that builds the fatigue that makes this work

Bingo. You have to pick a weight that you can do for 10 reps for all 10 sets. I don't think it's the best way to train for hypertrophy, but it's something different although like you said, it gets boring after awhile which is why it's a program I would not stay on for more than 6 weeks at a time.
