When I was pretty young, maybe 11 or 12, somewhere in that age range I got MC Hammer pants for Christmas. I put those things on right away. I thought I was just so cool.

Well...we always had christmas at my parents house and the entire family and friends would show up to this little row home in Philly. My cousin brought this one friend who I had met once and had this huge crush on. She was right around 15 or 16 at the time.


I'm just pulling out all the stops to act cool in front of this girl, and my cousin was even trying to talk me up. I sit on the couch and put my ankle on my knee, kind of like crossing my legs but where your legs make that figure 4. I slam down the rest of my can of soda and ask her if she would like something to drink(I should have known Id end up in the bar business right then). She says yes.


thats when everything goes wrong. as I go to get up the heel of my shoe gets caught in the crotch of my pants( seriously why did it need to be that fucking big?) and I faceplant right into the coffee table. The table was fine but it flipped knocking all of this food on it(there was always just goddamn food all over the house on a holiday) and not onto the floor but directly on top of me. To top it off, my nose and eyebrow were bleeding. It was shortly after that moment that this girl spent the rest of the night talking to my baby sister about her dolls.

good thread. I went to the batting cages with the kids and hurt my elbow just swinging the bat. Pathetic. I then went to mini golf (with the kids) and I typically ask my kids to get the ball for me because if I bend down to get it, my head pops off....ha
I have all those 80's tunes too and just basically get out of breath dancing for the kids. (I am 44).
