Has anyone used Hydrocortisone to fix low cortisol and heal adrenals?

I'm probably asking the wrong crowd, but just in case, I may as well find out whether anyone here has dealt with low cortisol and how they fixed it.

Have you had your bloodwork checked? (I'm assuming so) Years ago I was on a bunch of stims to lean out and I had labs pulled for my adrenals and they were actually perfect.

Just to be safe, nowadays I run a high dose Rhodiola, Ashwanghanda, and Schzinadra for about a month after I go off stims.

the idea that i have heard and tried a tiny bit is to use corticoids when cortistol is high, to knock natty production back. if on cycle for a while cortistol can become jacked up due to training and aas. you take some form of corticoid for a short time to knock back the natty production and lower levels. i have tried a cpl times low dose prednisone when feeling like really anxious and noticing other sort of inflamitory issues. it helped with anxiety and to some degree inflamtion. not sure if thats what you are talking about though...

LK3 hit it with corticosteroids. They can help with low cortisol BUT it should be very small dose, monitored by a doctor. Did you have 24 hour cortisol done? Just AM? Is it flipped? How is your sleep?

Yea I have very low cortisol based on a 24 hour saliva test and some blood test abnormalities. I'm getting everything retested in two weeks to confirm. Can't get out of bed most days. I'm on medical leave from work.

How high of a dose of Ashwagandha?

Ugh. That sounds a little rough. If you have access to a good endo that would be ideal. I may be wrong but years ago I think I remember reading that Dr. Crisler had a protocol for low cortisol (morning brain fog, low energy, etc). Might be worth it to Google a bit.

Correct. I always use either of the branded ones.

This! My brother has addison's disease. Was thinking the same thing and saw your post. His skin turned very dark and he slept all the time. None of the drs in my area could figure it out, finally my mom took him to ku medical center, a phenomenal hospital and they knew right away. Said he had about 6 more weeks to live if he hadn't been diagnosed. His is auto immune, his body attacks his adrenal glands and they cant function properly. He takes prednisone and cortisone daily. It eventually messed his thyroid up, so he had to take a radiation pill to kill his thyroid and now takes thyroid meds too. Endo also monitors his hormone levels because apparently he will end up with low t at some point. I think he has it now, his last test, his t level was upper 300's but he's got all the symptoms of low t.

That is a high dose, I'm having really bad insomnia lately (stopped smoking weed), I will try increasing my ksm-66 dose from 600 mg, thanks.

This is not something to be self treating. You need to find a qualified specialist in your area and be 100% straight with everything you`ve been taking because thyroid, adrenals, and gonads are all very interdependent on each others levels. Stop taking any thyroid meds if you still are. It is very possible that all that tinkering to get T3 level at "ideal" level burned out adrenals. Always treat the patient NOT the lab number.

Did you get the one with 4 readings throughout the day?
If yes, was the cortisol lower than the ideal range for all 4?

hey bud. There’s far too much for me to reply with to this (feel free to text me). I’ve dedicated all the time I’ve freed up by taking a medical leave from work to become fully proficient in this condition. Bottom line is I’m under the right guidance and finally have a plan in place, since the natural methods have proven to be a huge waste of time and suffering. I’m very excited to go through with the plan.

the only purpose of me making this thread was to see if anyone hear has ever used hydrocortisone and how it went for them.

Have you tried adrenal extracts etc?
I know you asked about HC. I considered that route to help with somewhat of a similar situation but first wanted to give the adrenal extracts a shot.
If you have not tried it I can share my experience that may be of some help.

Yea for two months and didn't feel any better. Idk maybe wasn't long enough though.

Did you have low cortisol at all 4 points too? Did adrenal cortex help you? Which did you take? Dose?

It would be nice to hear a success story

I will be interested in hearing how this works out. There's a former bb on YouTube who was having similar issues as you from what I've read. I will have to dig up his name, but he ended up getting prescribed Hydrocortison....ended up getting better. You might have seen his stuff?
