how fast does slin go bad???

how long can u leave slin out before it goes bad?
lets say i left out a whole bottle by mistake for a half hour..is it bad?
lets say you take a pin w slin in it to the gym, its not refrigerated, does it go bad by the end of your workout?
i also knew this guy who kept his serostim gh in his sock drawer after it was mixed.
and it still worked great for him.
i guess the question is, how long cna these be not refrigerated and still be good??

As long as it doesn't get extremely hot it will be fine. Slin doesn't actually have to refrigerated at all, just kept at room temp. If you freeze it, then it is also bad. When taking it to the gym, just get a small, insulated coffee or pop jug and keep it in the fridge until your ready to go to the gym. Load your slin in its dart and then put it in the jug and it will stay cool until after your workout. If you do this then it will all be good. Hope this helps.

I'm not sure about Humalog, but Humulin R is good for a long time (like up to a month) unrefrigerated as long as its kept out of heat.

novolin (humulin) ileft it out on the counter. it was pretty warm like 75 degrees but i figured it would take longer to go bad. like a whole day or so.
just dont want to waste it.

on a side note is there anyway to find out if its bad? a smell , or a look,
i heard if the vial is foggy, its no good. dont use it.

It will 99% be fine. I've had slin exposed to some quite extreme heat after being left in the car half a day and it was 100% fine. Don't sweat it. IronMike

PS - not sure about testing slin itself per se, but you could try testing your blood sugars after a shot to check the response. That'll tell you

wonder what medical lit. would say about life of insulin kept uncold. for some thought i beieve i read it could stay room temp for a month but dont quote me on that.
