How long does an address stay on the customs list?

How long after a seizure is it Ok to send to the same address? I have a replacement shipment and my source will only send to a street address (no P.O. box). (The original order was going to my buddy's house and never arrived.) My current address got a couple of seizure letters in a row over a year ago....it is the only street address I can use! Should I risk it?

Its NOT worth the risk. Your world will turn upside down if you get arrested. Not worth a few hundred dollars of gear. Come up with another solution. Better to write this order off and go with a source that delivers to a po box.

better not risk it.. find friend or get a po box.. but i say pay a little extra and get it in country

Its a data base just like anything else. Trust me on this one....once you get something seized by customs, you are flagged forever. Anything comming in from overseas will get a once over.

I'll just say something about that if I may. You are pretty much right in some respects. They are not going to X-ray every single last thing that comes to your house...but at the same time they now have a heads up that MAKES them at least KNOW something is comming from overseas to your house. Yikes

I can also say this....long story short...I was with a bunch of guys comming back from Mexico when I was 20 or so..car got searched and the dudes had a bunch of stuff they had stocked up on while down south. I myself had nothing to do with any of it nor did I purchase anything. But just from being in the car I got finger printed and booked just like the rest of them. That was almost 10 years ago. Now anytime I show my passport to travel, and they scan it, 7 out of 10 times I get searched. If Im with a group of people same thing. Just me and nobody else. That shits in there for the rest of my life and all I was doing was going on vacation all things. Just things to keep in mind.

is it the persons name and address that they keep and flag in the data base or just address? If a person has a new Addy could they have it sent with the same name they had a seizer letter at? I got one 3 years ago, but the funny thing was that I did not have any thing coming or never even ordered any thing. My buddy just got one but had nothing coming in or any orders pending. He had received his order 1 month before in full. Crazy

what doesnt make sense to me is why if you only get seizure letters in the past and all of a suddon you will go to jail? why didnt any of you get in trouble the first or first few seizure letters? no visit form LE? if all they do is send letters and not follow up then why worry?

You have to understand something here. The US customs department sends out all kinds of seizure letters. Anywhere ranging from someone trying to send fireworks from china to a friend back home in the states or someone trying to buy painkillers overseas. The thing is its a money issue. It would cost a ton of money to try and send everyone that gets one of these to jail not to mention is the cost of the trial, lawyers, ect worth it to get a conviction. What Im getting at is this.....if they start to see a pattern and notice some odd things happening you better bet your ass THEY WILL get a warrant and search your house. Getting a seizure letter or being stopped at the border is like wearing a scarlet letter if you will. Its a total red flag and not to mention to makes them keep their eyes and ears open anytime they see something even somewhat out of the ordinary. You may not get in trouble for the first few seizure letters and chances are the name on the package may not even match that of who is living at the current address. Keeping that in mind and knowing that they have had a pack snagged before, say they get another package sent to them and customs sees this one. Now they know it may not be a random thing anymore. They develop a "wheres theres smoke theres fire" attitude and may even let you take the pack but you better believe that you are being watched now. Its just not worth it. There are so many variables to take into consideration many dont even know. Oh and by the way THEY WILL FOLLOW UP. If you press the issue and continue to get stuff sent to the address you will be put in cuffs and sent to jail. God forbid it was just some stuff for personal use and you dont do any time, you still have to go through a shit load or red tape and spend thousands of dollars on attorneys and court fees. Another thing too...if they do take you to court they will try and get you for everything they think they can. I knew a guy that something like this happened to and he just happend to be close to a school. That never crossed his mind until they brought it up in court. Some things are just not worth risking. This isnt like getting a speeding ticket...its a warning and your freedom may be in question.

but how may people have had a visit from law enf. on the first snagged pack? it doesnt seem like anyone has been searched just after 1 pack has been siezed, assuming it wasnt a huge package right???

its a roll of the dice man. I know several people who got visits the first time.
