So long as you don't exceed calorie balance.
If your maintenance calories exist at 2500 calories, you consume 2300 calories from food, 600 calories from alcohol. That is a total of 2900 calories, 400 calories in excess of maintenance.
At some point, calories are calories. So any excess over maintenance is going to cause either fat gain, or increase in skeletal muscle.
WITH ALL DUE RESPECT.....
that statement made me crack up and what made me crack up more, are these newbies that agree on everything without doing their own research.
bottom line, doctors may advice you to ONLY drink some RED WINE (flavonoids - resveratrol). never heard any doctor talking about benefits of vodka, beer or scotch.
if we are talking socially, then do and drink what makes you happy
