Today i noticed there is almost 2 ways to do pullups

1) with lats flared out
2) shoulder blades pinched back together

i feel like number 1 really tears my lats up but when i tried it with shoulder blades back i feel like it worked my biceps alot more ( but maybe it was placebo cause this was a personal experiment lol)

however i never do number 2 and i struggle to get size in my biceps(triceps are ok)

Then i looked at my brother who does his pullups like number 2 and his back width sucks(i have a super wide back) but his biceps are almost out of proportion to the rest of his body.

Anyone else ever notice anything like this??
 
Youre Correct

almost.....The back is too big for one exercise to create both width and thickness. You need two individual movements to create both.
 
the title is bad haha im only referring to width not thickness
