My Sports Psychology instructor really brought something to light with me yesterday:
It was in regards to my post operation (hernia) and she told me, "Imagine the wound healing, and the muscle healing, and everything being corrected."
She proceeded to tell me some facts to back up that statement and how mental imaging is proven to accellerate healing.
I am reading a great book right now as well entitled The Magic of Thinking Big. As a matter of fact a member from this board sent me a copy of it suggesting I read it. It is changing my life.
This whole topic corresponds with bodybuilding so well because simply keeping your mind in a positive nature leads your body to follow. If you think positive, you will do positive things. If you rid your mind of all negative thoughts, your body and actions will not go negative. It is so basic, yet so advanced at the same time.
The reason I see this is because I see so many people finding things wrong with everything and complaining. If you step back and look at the big picture, one can see how constant negativity and complaining can lead you to ultimate failure...
I just find this whole psycho-dynamic range of thought very interesting, but especially the imaging-healing part in particular, it just all kind of fits in together.
What does everyone think of the imaging idea? I feel there will be a lot of mixed opinions.
Hope everyone is well!
