My wife (RN) just called to tell me that some 20yr old just got rushed into the hospital for Injecting 3cc of "oil" into his vein

Apparently the guy was an IV drug user , got clean and into the gym and decided to "take a cycle" , being familiar with IV Injection he figured that would be the best way to administer so he shot 2cc test 1cc deca IV LMFAO
Now the cops are there trying to figure out where he got it and exactly what it is.

I've had some oil seep into a vein after an injection and it definitely sucks , like lingering tren cough , I can't imagine what shooting 3cc all into the vein would feel like

I've hit an artery before, it was very unpleasant, it can happen even if aspirate properly, dentists do it a few times per year on patients, a vein wouldn't be as bad but I imagine it would still cause problems.

Funny you said that. I just tried it. It felt no different than any other injection at all. Never put anything in a vein before. I may have just stepped over to the dark side. I want to see for myself if it works better. Iv got all these juicy rope veins I might as well use them to my advantage

Good thing he wasn't injecting tren. He would have coughed all his internal organs out through his lungs.

Veins shouldn't be a big deal, when doing IM, however, hitting an artery can very unpleasant.

It wasn't intentional by any stretch of a means.

It was a deep IM glute injection gone bad 15+/- years ago. It wasn't a spontaneous reaction, it was roughly 10+/- minutes posts injection when the feeling of impeding doom set in. Went tachycardia (HR was 170-180 BMP felt like my heart was going to beat out of my chest) for several minutes, sweating profusely, short of breath and coughing violently. Much different than tren cough, which I've experienced a few times prior. Literally thought I was going to die. Far from a pleasant feeling. Didn't go to the ED as it resolved in less than a half hour or so.

Few years after that I was doing some early AM cardio I had a PE. Which was confirmed by a CT and D-Dimer. That's when I found out I was unfortunately blessed with a fairly high Lp(a). Not clotting disorders. Being slightly dehydrated was thought to be the culprit for the PE.

i remember one batch of Tren did it to me every time... i would get some sweats that would bring me to my knees and cough till I fake threw up. Super horrible. I remember having to cover my mouth with a towel or something just so someone in the house wouldnt worry...while Im probably dying...FUN TIMES

Bingo on the DDS. Mine hit a vein when I was in my early twenties. I immediately felt a
gasping sensation in my lungs, a very panicky feeling. He could see it my eyes which I
suspect were as big as saucers. Scared. He gave me a short break for it to subside and
explained that these things happen occasionally, especially in the area he was working.

I said no more, no more novacane for me. Finito. Have not had it since. The pain associated
with normal dentistry is tolerable for me. I must have a high threshold for pain, which is
temporary and no more biting my lip or tongue and the drooling, numb dead feeling mouth.

The dentist always asks and I decline. He says okay and starts drilling. My wife is the same
way. Does not require the 'cane'.

It's not the novocaine that is the problem, it's the epinephrine (adrenaline), this is added to the novocaine because it restricts blood flow in the area and makes the novocaine stay there longer. It's not a big deal, you can ask them for novocaine without epinephrine and they will give it to you, you just won't stay numb as long. There is no reason to have dental pain during a visit, the dentist should be a pleasant experience with zero pain, it's like going to a spa, don't let social dogma make it seem unpleasant, just enjoy yourself. Also, the dentist hit an artery, not a vein, veins go away from the lungs, arteries go towards the lungs.

This is different, this is just a strange effect tren has sometimes even if you don't hit an artery.

On a side note, when I inject anything with EO in it, I can taste it in my mouth INSTANTLY, very distinct, oil-like taste.

That explains and helps a lot. Thank you for the explanation, one I never got from my DDS.
And good to know there are options.

But I still don't mind the pain (porn to suffer? ;) ) and will take it over the side effects
of the cane.

I find the epinephrine in novocaine to very unpleasant myself, increased heart rate, sweating, etc, and the fact that they always use it is just silly, it's only necessary when they want to keep people numb for a long time. I almost always ask for no epinephrine if it's a short procedure. I dated a dentist for a while and I learned a lot about the crazy stuff they do. She went to one of the best dental programs in the country and learned shortly after (from a very good mentor dentist) that almost everything she learned was outdated and incorrect. The difference between a good dentist, educated in all the newest methods and materials, versus one with older information is dramatic.
