Is this a bicep taer or not?

Pics were taken about 36hours after injury
felt no 'POP' just hurt a bit about an hour later.

No major swelling
No bruising at all.
Just this knot on the right bicep.
Have strength in the arm and very liitle pain unless I really push it.

Spoke to "LATS" who by the way is a great guy! He is one helpful and smart dude! Major thanks to him! He felt it was a partial tear of the muscle and not the tendon. And the fibers that torn just balled up abit.

If anyone has hsd experience with this let me know.

How do I rehab this?
How long does it take to heal so I don't tear it more?

No experience with bicep tears but when I tore my patella tendon so bad it ruptured from my quad, it was like a "pop"
No pain.
No Blood.
No bruising.
No swelling.
Ortho told me tendons don't bleed or swell and that I tore the nerves off to so no pain till reattachement.

I'd get it checked out, it looks like a very mild lower bicep tear.
 
If anything it looks like a very small tear. I wouldn't have seen it if you hadn't have pointed it out.

Other than massage or A.R.T. which was posted in one of your other threads (cant remember which one) i would just be careful and avoid any movements that cause pain.
 
Could it be a lareg calcium deposite also. I had one in my bicep years ago. Pretty much was a knot of tissue and when I flexed the bicep, my bicep shape would look off. I had ultrasound to teh arae, and applied DMSO to it and it went away.
 
That looks exactly like my right bicep after I tore the lower outer head some years ago. I did feel 3 distinct pops. Like someone popping a rubber band against my bicep. I did have pain and swelling almost immediately. Initially I over-stressed that bicep doing heavy dumbell preacher curls by letting the weight descend too far. Then 2 weeks later, doing heavy deadlifts with an overhand underhand grip, I tore it and that's when I felt the "pops". I just let it heal on its own, but to this day that bicep looks a little short compared to the other side. + I am a little weaker on that side now.
 
I TORE MY RIGHT ONE COMPLETELY FROM THE RADIUS...

I HAD THAT REPAIRED....IT HEALED VERY WELL AFTER SURGERY. I ALSO HAD A SMALL TEAR IN THE LEFT ONE. ALL IN ALL...I WOULD MUCH RATHER HAVE A TENDON REPAIRED THAN A PARTIAL TEAR THAT TENDS TO HEAL POORLY.

IN MY CASE I FELT A SHARP PINCH AND IN THE PARTIALLY TORN LEFT BICEP....NO SWELLING.. PAIN WHEN I PALPATED THE SPOT ON THE BICEP...ONLY HURT WHEN I DID HEAVY ROWS. THE KNOT SOUNDS LIKE YOU DID INJURE SOMETHING. THERE IS NOT SO MUCH THEY CAN DO WITH A PARTIAL TEAR. THAT'S SOMETHING YOU'VE GOT TO REST...WHICH SUCKS, I KNOW.

That is what happened with the rupture with the tendon in my hand.....my finger was "frozen" and tendon was balled up in my forearm...


TJ when my buddy Jason Wojo tore his pec (muscle fibers like yours) He did some deep tissue massage work I forget the technique he said but he said that it hurt like hell but worked good...

No tear there!!! if you tear a muscle THERE HAS TO BE INTERNAL BLEEDING,and you dont look bruised,could be a major cramp like bigA said-massage and rest,oh and ofcourse igf-1/pegmgf.

Anyone have any ball park as far as how long I have to take off for? Been off 3 wks now (first 2 wks with rotator and now 1 wk with bicep and rotator).

Still have some pain when move it just right. Ortho says does not need surgery. Time off is killing me!
 
start getting it massaged, since its a slight tear it doesnt need to be repaired so it could stay in that shape for life but if you massage and stretch regularly it should start to come back to normal but its hard to tell.. i would stay away from heavy bicep lifting for another few weeks to 1 month at all depends
