KNEE PAIN

I have been suffering knee pain when i go down 90* or lower.
I went to the doctor and he sayd my knees are ok just the cartilague gets inflamated and he injected bouth knees with cortizone.

After 2 weeks from the day of the injections i did my first very light leg workout but the pain is at 50% less but still impeding me to train hard.

Do you think that the doctor didnt put enough medication or he didnt cover the whole area???

I did ask Victor Munoz and he sayd it could be, but he says also my legs are growing the last couple of month and the tendons arent enough flexible and the joint is getting to tight so bones are touching eachother producing pain and inflamation. He ask me to stretch 20 minutes every day to get the flexibilitiy i need and the pain will desapear. He sayd it happen to Victor Martinez and others of his athletes.

What do you think??? anyone with the same problem??? How do you fix it???
I am trying to not take ibuprofen, only if it hurts to much after the workout. (once a week)
 
Big Heinz, I've been in wicked pain for a little over 10 weeks.

I was on a forced supplement free period and felt terrible. My wrists hurt, my feet hurt, the backs of my hands hurt. It was the first time I'd been low on testosterone for 10 years.

I had it prescribed for years. Well, things changed. On top of that winny tabs were the last substance used..dry joints. Then nothing.

I've been stretching and it really helps. Hot water really helps me. If I take a hot tub for 15 minutes and stretch carefully it makes a big difference.

Plus, I am just now beginning to feel hormonally correct again. Today I did legs and didn't feel brittle. I actually felt strong again.

Lynx bought me some neopreme knee sleeves that keep the joints warm. An early Christmas gift.
 
I had to start wrapping my knees and it made a huge difference in the pain from squats. I love my knee wraps because my squat immediately went up in weight and it was pain free!
 
Use some Ibuprofen 800mg's and hour before leg day. And also use something like Icy Hot and Tiger Balm rubbing creams. About 20 mins before you do your legs. This should help you bring the pain down a lot.
 
When I run into this I usually need to drop the weight and do high reps for a few weeks. Instead of going to failure in 6-10 reps I will shoot for 20 reps or so. The light weight really gives the joint a rest and you are still working the muscles and able to maintain what you have at least. I always run into your problem when I hit a growth spirt and start getting strong too fast. I think your trainer is right about stretching too, I started doing that and things are ALOT better. I also use one of those foam rollers now on my quads. It hurts like hell but I think it really helps to break things up and allow more flexibility. Glucosamine helps too.

Where specifically in the knee do you feel the pain? Is your pain only during the movment or does it linger throughout the day and at other times?

Your kidneys won't like it... imagine if he feels the same pain in his shoulders/pec/lower back etc... 800mg ibuprofen 4 or 5 days a week for months :eek: Plus it will do nothing to strenghten the tendons / ligaments... just mask the pain.

High doses chondroitin / glucosamine / MSM / cissus / harpagophytum should be helpful.

also if u can get some tendinis (sp) deep massage it works GREAT

my gf squats heavy with ass on the floor and had severe knees painuntil she got 3 sessions of deep massage done on her knees tendinis(sp?) ... she cried every time lol :D cause IT HURTS LIKE HELL but the pain disappeared after the 2nd session
 
One of my knees kills me when I squat or do hack squats. Wrapping the knee works wonders for me. I wrap it tight enough (definitely tight) to get good pressure on the knee and eliviate the pain, but not super tight so it is aiding me in my lifts and helping me get up more weight. hope this helps, and hope your knee heals up bro!
 
Knees !!! Mine are shot!
Had ruptured the left patella tendon 5 yrs ago and the leg muscle will not respond to grow any suggestions?

Find yourself an ART specialist. (Active Release Therapy) I was having problems with my left knee the same way you describe and 4 to 5 visits to an ART specialist should clear it right up. Alota bbers use them on a regular basis.

Hell man, i gues i have to talk with MHP to raise my sponsorship just to pay the ART, my deep tissue massage, my Pilates clas and the chiropractor :D

I have been doing the ibuprofen 800 mg without any problems once or twice a week, just when i need it.

I will take it just before the legs workouts witch is every 5 days plus the ice hot cream until i get the your other advices working.

Does it hurt near the top of the kneecap, actually slightly above? If you put your finger on it is it pretty tender to the touch? When you sit for prolonged periods of time where the knee doesn't have a chance to stretch out, does it start to throb? The reason I am asking so many questions is there are quite a few things that could possibly be going on.

Bones should never touch each other unless there is no cartilage(sp). Have a xray to see what is going on.

x2. i was going to say the same thing i have been recieving ART treatment for a couple months and it has been great. i use it for my knees as well as tendonitis in my elbows. deff give it a try (find a big guy that deals with athletes so he can beat up a lil) goodluck...
 
I have a similar problem in my left knee. after an MRI and quite a few specialists I have figured out i have Chondromalasia patelle which is a degredation of the cartilage behind the patelle. and sometimes it can actually break apart and create uneven surfaces causing pain when flexed at all.. mine is not that bad yet thankfully and using cissus, MSM and glucosamine has minimized the pain for me.. your situation sounds a bit more complex man id get an MRI done for sure by the sound of it! i hope you start feeling better bro sorry if im totally off base
