lateral head

after surgeries on both of my triceps, bringing my arms back to 20s has been very slow to say the least :banghead: they are now @ 18.5 cold and progressing steady

thing is before my surgeries my lateral development was never an issue but now it seems only thing that will grow is the long head and that head does help in overall size but my lateral is definately slacking

what exercises or subtle changes to certain exercises (hand position, execution, etc) has helped this area in your guy's opinion?

May I ask if you suffered any nerve damage to your triceps as a result of the surgery? I ask because I had a friend who had tricep surgery himself and he could never get it back to what it was before. Truly sad because there was a good inch and a half difference between his two arms and it was all due to the lost tricep mass in his left arm due to a nerve the surgeon must have severed.

not sure, there was numbness right after the surgeries but thats common during the rehab time frame... no numbness since though

Yeah if you've lost a nerve you won't feel numb because you won't feel anything. Do you have any dead spots of feeling in or around the tricep?

was it a re attachment? if aso they may not ever be the exact same.. anytime a tendon is severed or ruptured it never has the same bio mechanics it had post surgery.. i found that out with my quad rupture..

i will have to check tomorrow... i just finished doing back and dont laugh but if even try to reach around to feel one of my tris, my lats start to cramp...

@LATS yes, both were re attachments

i kind of had a feeling what you say might be true.... guess i will just have to bring em back as close as possible

Rope pushdowns stopping half way up and then push back down. Continuous tension thing. Worked wonders for me. Hope this helps. BTW, not very heavy on these.

A trainer from this board taught me db extension bringing the thumbs into the armpits...made my low outside area of the tri very sore and pumped and visibly pumped in that low outise area of the tricep. Give it a whirl it works.
