DC Romanian Deadlifts – this is a style of doing RDLs that Dante taught me back when I was a client of his in 2002.

You do a set of 6 with a weight you could get about 12 reps with, then rack the weight, add a dime to each side, do 6 more reps, add another dime to each side, etc. until you can no longer do 6 reps with a given weight.

Today I did 305 x 6, 325 x 6, 345 x 6, and 365 x 4:

Leg Press – 1100 x 8, and 810 x 27

Shelby - just wanted to thank you for the cool post as usual. I love the fact you do the crazy high rep sets too....I hit an 8 plate on each side set of 50 today on leg press. Keep up the good work brother.

Thanks John.

I remember when you were on the front of a Parillo Press issue about 11 years ago - it was about your back training and the crazy shit you did. It had a sweet back pic of you too - a rear double bicep if I remember correctly. I was always very motivated by that.

Happy New Year

John you should post some videos if you can.

How much of that movement are you feeling in your hams?

How dizzy were you after that set? Deads kill me more then anything, and I need at least a minute to breath after a single 10 rep set is done.
What is your 1RM at RDL?

Quite a bit. Hams and glutes (as if my ass needs to be any bigger...). Drive thru your heels, don't lock out at the top, and really sit back into the movement.

Not dizzy. I've never done a 1rm on RDLs, so I don't really know.
Regular deadlifts I did 500 x 9 from the floor the other day, so I'm probably good for a little over 600 for a single there.

Thanks guys. It would be cool if more people would post up some hard and heavy training, unique lifts, etc.

even more than a gallon of whole milk?....hahahaha...i am sooooo sorry i just couldnt help myself...

seriously though nice lifts!

These videos are a fun part of the board, Shelby.

Keep up the good work!

I do a movement thats just like that but on a smith machine. I saw something Tom Prince wrote a long time ago about how he trained his hams and he did that exact movement on the Smith. Good stuff.

Hey that looked awesome I do my deads for hams the same way pretty much.

I saw some of your other vids look really good, motivational.

Looks like stiff leg deadlifts

Being a Yates fan you have notice that the first exercise was exactly like Dorian Yates when he does his deadlifts. Weird isn't it?
