I think he is in his 40s as well not sure what his exact age is but I think lifting those weights at this stage of his career is a bit foolish. I mean realistically at this point how much size is he really going to add?
I still barbell flat press after a chest fly movement, and I wear the least helpful slingshot. Makes it more tricep dominant, and gives some support in the chests vulnerable area.
This is exactly what I do nowadays. Leverage machine for heavy presses, then moderate weight for DB pressing.
Course I invested in the Spot Grips so I never have to kick up heavy weight anymore. Those lil inventions eliminate that awkward knee kick to get the DB’s in place.
