I've always had a problem with muscle cramps after a hard workout, especially in the forearms and hip flexors. What happens is that about 1 hour after a good upper body "pulling" session, if I begin to bend my forearms, the muscles cramp or spasm, and my forearm contracts violently to the closed position. Earlier this summer, my right forearm did this while I was asleep, and kept contracting so hard that it pulled and injured my thumb tendon.
Hip flexors do it on big leg days.
So, long story short: I've tried hydration, electrolyte replenishment, taurine, potassium, sodium, calcium, pressure point massage...all to no effect.
I'm bursting my GH, 10iu post workout in a small muscle group. Works great. So, the other night, I just did a pulling session, and when I went to inject, I hit my right forearm. Guess what?
An hour later, my left forearm cramps violently, but my right forearm won't cramp at all. No matter how hard I try to get it to cramp, it won't.
So, I inject 10iu into the left forearm. Within 10-15 minutes, the cramping stops completely.
The last big leg night, which I know from experience would have left my hip flexors cramping, I injected my GH close to the insertion in the abdomen. No hip flexor cramping.
I'm guessing that this has something to do with a localized effect on aldosterone and/or exercise-induced norepinephrine, but can't find any anecdotal reports or research evidence to back me up.
Any thoughts from the HGH experts on this board?
Thanks! I also hope that this might help some others who cramp up pwo.
