Long or short cycles which do you think is more effective?
Me personally I have experimented with both and I find retain more weight after a longer cycle say 20 weeks as opposed to 10 or 12. Whats everyone elses experience?

i am going back to shorter courses. they make more sense for my style of training. i like to really up the intensity for 4 (very low volume but, drop sets, forced reps ect). i will stay on for two more weeks to help with recovery while i back off the intensity by just going to failure or just short of it. i will back off intensity for 4 to 6 weeks while i am clean. then back on ect. i used to do this years ago but, stopped in favor of trying longer cycles. way to expensive and not enough gains after the 6 week mark anyway. but, everyone is different. big a stays on for long periods of time but, his body handles it well. so to each their own and just experiment. that is half the fun anyway!

Ry??
Ry, hope you don't mind my curiosity but at your size is it possible for you to come completely off without losing a large amount of muscle or do you bridge between cycles?

I like to stay on for LONG periods. Longest I have been on straight was almost 4 years. Never went below 1g/week test.
After 10 years f almost constant gearing, I went off totally off gear and gym 6 months ago. I've dropped almost 30lbs, but I like being a normal person again. I will start properly again very soon (weeks away). If all the size comes back the way it should, I can't see th enext break until after middle of next year.
I tried the short cycles too - 3 weeks on, 2 weeks off, all fast compounds. Worked ok, but nothing special. I always recomend to listen to your body. If your body is exploding, why come off? Just beause it's time for your cycle to end? You should stay on and take advantage of the growth spurt you are experiencing as it doesn't hapen too often.

Have you had any blood work since you have been off? Has your hpta been able to recover fully? Do you know what your test levels are?

After that 4 year stint, which finished in 2000, my HPTA was back to normal 6 weeks after I was off.

Ummm, usually most I go off is like 4 weeks but, usually I will use EPO inbetween and keep on w/ GH. I usually will lose some size but, nothing drastic. Like if I am at 318 as of today then when I go off for 3 weeks I might be at like 308 or something at the end which isn't bad. I wish I could be like A and go off for that long but, I am too addicted.ehehhehee

That is impressive man. I figured it would be shut down for a while, with how long you stayed on.
Peace
