I've searched this and many curious people have had mixed opinions on the cause of this in the past. Now, after more time, do we know what this is?
If we know what the problem is, the solution will be easy.
Some say it's only orals. Stress on the kidneys. I'm using ONLY Test Propionate and this is happening to me.
I'm not talking a good pump from a workout. I mean a muscular pump so hard and so tight in your lower back that it hurts to stand up, hurts to walk, hurts to sit, and hurts to lay down. You want to go home but if you're tough enough that day, you finish all your scheduled sets.
NOT an injury. Happens on both sides only after exertion and feels exactly like a massive muscular "pump."
It's getting so bad it IS affecting my workouts so much that it's a wonder how I'm still making progress.
My guesses as to possible causes;
rapid weight gain causing muscular strain and tension
kidneys (somehow painful only when working out? i doubt it, but possible)
not strong enough to keep up with current weights in the gym
cramps like i frequently get cramps in all other body parts
