Muscular exercise can cause highly pathological liver function tests in healthy men

Well I think it depends on a few things. First how high were yours? Secondly is it a deviation from your norm? And finally how is the rest of your bloodwork?

One thing dictors are terrible at (but getting better) is overreacting about one number. For instance let's look at creatinine. For many reasons a bodybuilder could have 1.6 as the norm which could mean kidney failure for someone else. BUT if said bodybuilder had always been at 1.6 and the rest of the bw is solid there is really no reason to go further.

In your case people with liver failure or a seriously hindered or injured liver don't have perfect bloodwork in other places. For starters the entire lipid profile is often jacked up if you have serious liver injury.

So I would ask yourself the three questions I posed to you to start and that should help guide you. I would communicate with your pcp though.

My doctor knows my liver tests are always slightly elevated because I train. He does as well and is aslo a BJJ instructor and understand how strenuous exercise affect liver enzymes, however he also tests for other enzymes that are liver specific, GGT, is one I believe. If ALP and GGT are elevated you have cause for concern, but training should not elevate GGT to abnormal levels

Tell you doctor you were researching things about elevated liver enzymes and found information about elevated enzymes from strenuous exercise and ask for a more comprehensive liver panel.

Info on GGT GGT: The Test | Gamma-Glutamyl Transferase

FWIW, I recently had a viral infection and couldn't train for a few days, I was dehydrated and couldn't drink or eat so I went to the ER for an IV, they tested my liver enzymes and they were perfect... because I didn't train for 3 days.
