These are MY predictions and summarizations for the NFL, as you can see I am a big fan.
As for Sunday -- my predictions:
Falcons vs Panthers: hmm a tough NFC South game, I'm going w/ the Falcons here, but this is one pick that I am not sure of...the Panthers are aching for another win after that tough loss they just had, and they had the Saints on the ropes in New Orleans, that gave them some much needed confidence. Matt Ryan should be able to expose the secondary of Carolina, and with a beefy running game and an energized Roddy White and always reliable Tony Gonzales, they should pull it off. But it should be a close one.
Bucs vs Dolphins: The 'fins are in Miami, their running game is kickass, and the Bucs suck. Dolphins by a landslide.
Lion’s vs Vikings: Read above --- only watching this game will actually hurt...if you are a Lions fan. This game is a prime example of how football should be played (Viks) and how it should not be played (Lions). Since they have a poor run defense already, Adrian Peterson will prob have a field day (like the pun?) in this one. Will Detroit step up to the plate and pull off an upset? Fuhggedabaddit, especially trying to do it in Minn! Vikings by enough that Favre will play minimally in the 4th quarter if at all.
Jaguar’s vs Jets: Victory for the Jets. They have homefield in this one, and depending on which Mark Sanchez shows up this win will either be by a lot or by a hair. The Jags are a mess offensively, and Jones-Drew cannot be a one-man team although sometimes he damn near is.
Bengals vs Steelers: First of all I fucking HATE the STEALERS, and I have my reasons (see SB 40) The Bengals already handed Pittsburgh a loss this year, and as much as I want Benson and co. to put an ass-whoopin' on them, I am afraid they will not be able to overcome the Steelers as they are playing in Pitt and they want revenge. I think Palumalo is back as well. Watch out Ochocinco, he is a monster of a safety. This game is going to determine the who's who of the AFC. As much as it pains me to write this -- and I know there is a bunch of Pitt fans on this board, (Thor, Pesty for a start) Steelers by 10pts.
Saints vs Rams: Yea for the Rams, they have a win on their belt this year! After a bye-week, they will be rested enough to get slaughtered. Sort of like making sure a prisoner is 'healthy' enough to be executed. The Saints have too many weapons, and the rams have only one: Steven Jackson. Poor bastard. HELLUVA back, leads the league in rushing even. Bulger has been a major disappointment as well. The Saints will put up over 40 pts easy, prob by the 1st half lol! Saints all the way.
Bills vs Titans: = Boooring...This game will only be worth watching to see how many yards Chris Johnson (who is just plain sick) will accumulate. Oh and that receiver for the Bills? What’s his name? Oh yeah Terrell Owens. He is fun to watch...when he catches the ball. Titans by a touchdown.
Bronco’s vs Redskins: Now the 'skins are a team that I genuinely feel bad for. Zorn is being used as a scapegoat. Fucking Snyder is a dipshit of an owner and has ruined this team. Portis is hurt too. Broncos are sore after their loss to Pitts. I despise this team as well, but they got something good going on in Denver, and K. Moreno is going to have a HUGE game, as will B. Marshall. The only help Washington is going to get is from retired HOF'er John Riggins. Maybe he should strap up and play for Christ's sake! Denver by a shitload.
Chief’s vs Raiders: KC is in an even more pathetic state than the Redskins. KC has all but imploded this year. Bye bye Larry Johnson. They are rebuilding this year, but picking up some black eyes in the process. One bright spot is QB Matt Cassel, the dude is good, I'll give him that. The Raiders are also in a state of disarray, and need to finally admit that QB Jamarcus Russell is a bust. This is a rivalry that usually brings the best out of both teams. Perhaps not this year though. I'll say Oakland in a close one.
Seahawks vs Cardinals: ouch! The Seahawks are having all sorts of injury problems, and will not have an answer for the potent Arizona attack. Fitzgerald will have his way with Seattle's secondary, and Hasslebeck will be frustrated by the lack of a running game to back him up. In this NFC west contest, the Cardinals will dominate them, *sob* damn.
Cowboy’s vs Packers: This will be a great and fun game to watch. The Packers are anxious to get back on track for an NFC wildcard bid. Beating the Cowboys would be just the ticket to firing them up. Rodgers needs to play more consistently and that damn offensive line needs to protect him. As for the Cowboys? They are now playing to their potential after a rocky start. New stadium, big hopes. Romo also is by far one of the streakiest Qb's in the league; when he's on, HE'S ON, and when he is off, he is OFF. Both teams need this win importantly. It’s going to be a dogfight (no Vick jokes) and I have a feeling the last person with the ball will win. Also Dallas is going to be playing in frigid temps, so it will be interesting. This game is hard to call but I am going to go out on a limb and say GB...barely.
Eagles vs. Chargers: Which Eagles team is going to show up? Better yet, which Chargers team is going to show up? Westbrook is slated to return, yet I am unsure of how effective he will be w/ his bum ankle. Westbrook is IMO, the Eagles' MVP. Without McNabb that team can win, they have solid backups. Without Westbrook the Eagles suffer. Yes they can win without him, but he is a VITAL piece to that offense and makes McNabb's job a whole lot easier. San Diego is supposed to be the powerhouse in the AFC West, but they have been struggling with all kinds of problems. A lot of ppl were quick to jump on the L.T. bandwagon a few years ago, and now it seems even more ppl are ready to castrate him and say he is 'washed up'!!! WTF? He is still an excellent RB, he has had a few nagging injuries, but when healthy he is never someone to be overlooked. Rivers is also establishing himself as a worthy weapon to worry about, and he gets better and better it seems. I predict that sunny San Diego is going have a treat in store for them on Sunday. This game will be bringing out the competitive juices for sure and I have a feeling LT is on the verge of having one of his monster games. The defenses will take a backseat in this one, (im not saying anything to imply these teams are offensive juggernaughts though) and it should be enjoyable to watch. Chargers by 14.
Patriot’s vs Colts: This is going to be THE game to watch, put it right next to the Cinci/Pitt matchup. Both teams are loaded with talent and various weapons. I dislike when certain teams play each other and the game is looked at as Qb vs Qb. I have to admit that this game will be just that in fact. This along with the Cinci/Pitt game is for AFC supremacy. Will Manning pick apart the Pats' defense? Will A. Thomas actually play? Can the league's 'Golden Boy Brady' dismantle the Colts -- especially minus Sanders? There is always that extra incentive on both sides of an undefeated team; stay undefeated, and to be the team that handed them their 1st loss. I have to go with the hometeam on this one, it was a toughie, but I think Manning will pull it off, but not without a serious fight. The Pats seem to be firing on all cylinders as of late, but they play better outdoors. This will not be the case in Indy. Colts by 3.
MNF Ravens vs. Browns: Another gag-me game, although I like seeing the Raven's Defense when they are clicking. Cleveland will have its hands full like they do with every team they play just about. Brady Quinn...is he who they thought he was? (I know it's a Bears thing but I could not help it) lol. I dunno but he needs to do something fast as his career is plummeting along with the team. And what happened to Derek Anderson? Was it a fluke 2 years ago? Hard to say. The Browns are in need of some serious re-structuring. Baltimore actually has an offense these days, and I have to give props to Flacco for his play. With the one-two punch of Ray Rice and Willis McGahee, they are a formidable adversary to any team. Rice is a true gem of a pickup, they needed someone to compliment McGahee. I say it will be Baltimore by 27.
I also had picked SF to beat Daaaa Bearsss -- and as Deion said -- Cutler will make sure to give a few hand-wrapped gifts out, but damn not 5 of them...but two were not his fault...
I would like to add to this thread each week and do my predictions, what the hell ya know? So go ahead guys, tear me apart (you Steeler fans hee hee) and lemme see what you think for tomorrow.
