Ok im sure this has happened to everyone here on this board at somepoint in there lifting career.
im at my christmas eve dinner with the family tonight and i have probably gained about 5 to7 more pounds of lean mass since thanksgiving. im doing so because i want to do a show for the first time the middle of next year. ( i'll post some pics in the pic forum later....will need some feedback )
so my family is italian...and big ( we deep fry 4 turkeys just to feed everyone ) and everyone knows that i enjoy lifting and bodybuilding etc. almost everyone in my family has come to me asking for advice in one shape or another either about diet, training, or supplements. i love helping my fam because its my fam.
but tonight was different. a friend of the family has had dinner with my family for the last 3 or 4 years. hes a college buddy of my uncle. now this guy loves to dog people or make fun of people at there expense just to make himself look good. i really cant stand the guy or that type of person for that matter.
so we all were sitting around talking and he says to me " so looks like you've lost some weight " and i said yeah " im only in the gym once a week and rolled my eyes ". then this guy has the nerve to say " so i guess all those steroids must be working " i couldnt believe he had the balls to say that!!! so i said to him " about as good as that fat drunk beer belly is working for you "!!! and of course some people laughed but come on.....serious.....did he really need to say all of that??? it made everyone feel soooo uncomfortable. my family is smart they know how this sport works and they respect that its understood at a certain level as long as you do shit right.
i guess what im trying to say is how do you guys here combat against questions or comments like this in front of family and friends????
P.S.
AND I WANTED TO LEVEL THIS GUY SOOOO BAD.....
