more of a guide to painless POST injection.. but whatever lol.
not so much a guide as just a few things ive figured out over the years about reducing and nearly eliminating post-injection pain. (DOIP-delayed onset injection pain ) This will probably help out a lot of beginners, but i know some guys that are more advanced that still could use some of these.
1. take a nice hot shower before your shot, it helps you relax. and while youre in there, why not clean the injection site with some antibacterial soap.. couldnt hurt. (im really paranoid about infection LOL)
2. prior to cleaning the injection site with alcohol (after you finish your shower, dry off and put on new clothes of course), apply a hot washcloth(that has been wrung out) with a bit of pressure on the injection site. again, the heat helps relax the muscle. this alone helps make injection pain/DOIP less painful.
3. run the syringe with the oil based compound under a stream of hot water for around a minute. helps the oil flow/dissipate from the injection site more easily. less pressure you have to apply while injection, less needle movement = less pain.
4. clean the area with alcohol, as normal. clean the tops of vials, use new pins. of course, everything as normal. 23's for oils, 25's for water based. i find 23g needles to be the best for painless injections for a couple reasons. they arent so small that youre having to apply a lot of pressure to the plunger (which can cause unnecessary movement of the needle inside the muscle), and being small enough to not hurt. so swab the injection site, pin as normal.
5. after removing needle from injection site, apply an alcohol swab, and DEEPLY massage over where the needle was. DEEPLY, do not be gentle about it. it really helps dissipate the oil. and when i say massage, i dont mean rub. some guys start rubbing, and that only irritates the site. massage with the swab for about 1-2 mins.
6. apply hot washcloth yet again, heat helps keep the muscle relaxed, and even helps dissipate the oil. even massage with the hot cloth if you choose.. MASSAGE.. not rub.
7. STRETCH THE SITE OUT HARD. Say you did a quad shot, stretch the quad out. put your foot up on your bed, with the other foot on the ground, and push your knee towards the ground... not sure if that makes sense.. but most everyone knows how to stretch their quad stretch for around 2 mins... nice and deep.
8. FOAM ROLLER..or as i like to use PVC PIPE ROLLER. im assuming most guys on here know about foam rolling after training, helps with recovery, as well as many other things. i like to massage the injection site out with the roller, just do about 10 nice, slow, painful rolls, back and fourth. let it help massage the injection site, which can further dissipate the oils.
9. STRETCH AGAIN.
10. tell me your injection pain wasnt A LOT LESS the next day.
so those are just a few things ive picked up in my life. theyve definitely helped me, and definitely helped a bro of mine who was crippled from a quad shot for a whole week LOL.
