Nation wide gym chain says "No Grunting"

I don't have the name of this chain because they haven't mentioned it yet. This is coming from the "Today Show". If you "grunt" while working out, go find another place to train. Ahh, The United States. First we define the "Metrosexual" and now this. Train hard folks, you are guaranteed to stick out among the new world inhabitants. What a candy ass world we live in.

the funniest thing is.....

it was the original bodybuilders that started the whole chain gym phenomenon.... those same guys that used to scream and grunt, and wear string-tanks, bandanas, boots and stripped hammer pants.... the image of the eternal meathead, and now that every jared subway-eater goes to the gym bodybuilders are no longer welcome. commercial gyms would NOWHERE without the oldschool bodybuilders. ever notice that?

Planet fatass. Believe it or not they have a decibel alarm that sounds if you drop any weight or grunt loud enough. It's called the "lunk alarm". Their dumbbells don't exceed 80 lbs and they will throw your ass out for deadlifting. This place has been discussed in depth on another board and it is all that's wrong with America. Oh, and once a month they have pizza night and doughnut day. No shit.

Annn, the fitness industry!! Never ceases to amaze me. We had a thread about grunting in gyms before. I think the "FITNESS INDUSTRY" should crawl back into it's pathetic little hole and grow some mould. As was the Jane Fonda aerobics scene, as was the Rebok scene, as was the body jam and others scene, this is the new craze. It will die a slow cruel death. Gyms and iron are eternal. They have been aroun d for over a hundred years and will be around for over a hundred more. These fads will die. I have so many from the other gym that have been hurt and injured both mentally and physically form classes and "FITNESS INSTRUCTORS" in my gym. They soon come to the realization that a good body comes from weights, not classes. Cardio and aerobics is fine for the extra fat loss b ut it's weights that deliver. Just do not give these gyms your money period. They will go away after time.

I have to chime on here.

Oh.. my God have we went round and round here where i live with this shit hole place... planet fitness.
My gym used to be Golds but they sold out to fag fitness. My contract i signed was with Golds... and it had 2 years paid in full left on it.
So.. as soon as the butt pirates from P fitness took over... i was forced into rules i didnt sign up for 2 years prior.
Here in NC the mother fuckers actually cut the damn bars off so you cant get over three 45 lb plates on the smith... and bench.
Wtf... i max out on the smith on incline at 455lbs ... now im forced to be a faggy fitness buff.
Oh yeah... the "Lunk" alarm... what a fucking Joke! This place advertises as the "judgement free zone" but damn... they judge everyone who walks in the door.... if your a bodybuilder your not welcome... if you even look half juiced you get taken to the office and given a speech on how to not do drugs and come the there gym... and YES i got that speech.
There sign says they market toward the 78% of american that are couch potatos... the rest can go other places to work out.
Fucking assholes. This is what happens when butt pirates take over.

I train at a hardcore gym - chalk everywhere, no language limits, no heat in the winter, hotter than hell in the summer (except for some big ass industrial fans), powerlifters, bodybuilders, whatever... We are reaping the benefit of places like PF throwing guys out for grunting. Their serious lifters are at our gym now. They are free at last! We're like a freakin' fraternity. Everyone trusts one another and watches your back. It's a shithole but I wouldn't train anywhere else.

Yes there is!! I am so glad I own my own gym as I hear and see more of these "FITNESS GYMS" open up and start kicking BBers out of them. Since you guys live in the land of law suits maybe you could all start a class action suit against these highly discriminatory centres. I am appalled that they would actually go to the lengths of pulling you aside to lecture about drugs?? So they draw a conclusion based on first appearance and determine that you are juicing?? To me that's as good as slander or defamation. This has to be stopped. I would never make that assesment of anyone walking in my door, nor would I care. If they were to bring any drugs to my gym I can say they would get the fucking ass kicking of a lifetime. Not for the drugs but jeopardizing my business. What you do at home is exactly that, what you do. But to have these pencil necked, no legged, whimpy assed, weak, pathetic fitness trainers tell you that you are not welcome is taking things too far. You guys have my sympathy and if you are ever in Australia please pm me and you train at my gym for free!! I mean that whole heartedly. ABSOLUTELY FREE!!
