My understanding is that the newer buffered creatines don't pose any significant problem because they don't form creatinine as a byproduct like monohydrate supposedly does. Is it necessary to come off after a specific length of time like 8 weeks or something? I'm responding very well to the buffered creatine and would like to stay on a bit longer. Your feedback is much appreciated...thanks

Tom

Yes, you should come off creatine for 8 week periods & cycle it for optimum gains. You see, creatine, especially Muscle Tech creatine, will cause 827% more gains than not using creatine, & if you don't cycle it, you will only get183.5% the gains, hence plummeting head first into the law of diminishing returns. If you stake it with Gakic & Leukic, you will increae your gains by 1023%. So when all is said & done, yes, one must cycle creatine or else the edema created gains will decrease by 291.7%.

The fact that there is no long term studies on CEE and it's overall safety, I would err on the side of caution and cycle it, say 8 weeks on and an equal amount of time off of it. Just go back on regular CM or Dicreatine Malate during the off time with CEE.

My understanding is that the buffered creatine (not CEE right, but the PH balanced one? forget the name) doesn't convert to creatinine in the solution you drink as readily. Creatinine levels in urine will increase I think, regardless. There is no evidence, AFAIK, that elevated creatinine levels from creatine is harmful. Elevated creatinine is a marker for kidney stress, but creatinine itself isn't harmful. That's my understanding.

their are more studies done on monohyrate then CEE, but their really had not been any longtidunal studies done on creatine and its long term side effects. At least to my knowledge. IMO elevated creatinine levels are from the introduction of larger amounts of creatine and the process of using creatine during workouts. People who work out excrete more creatinine then people who do not. So I dont think its is a fair gauge of kidney function. Garbage in = garbage out. I dont know what the long term effects of creatine use is. If they find a correlation or a cause an effect with cancer or something then I'll probably be F'd but I have used continualy for off maybe like a 4 days to week at a time. I always say make it available.

With CEE, I'm not worried about the creatinine load, I'm concerned about the Ethyl Ester that is attached to the creatine molecule.

i feel any supplement we take natural or not we should come off of a couple of times a year.. that is my feeling and i feel 6-10 weeks 2 times a year is best off of everything and anything except food..

just my opinion but i have felt healthier for doing it along with a good internal cleanser product to boot...
