Need diet help for show
Right now I am 15 weeks out, just came out of the offseason, and put on some good size. I have started doing 1 hour cardio first thing in the morning and have cut my carbs back to around 225 grams, with around 400 grams of protein. I am on 500mgs sust every 4 days, then going with celn t3, suspension, fina gold, and winnijet starting 8 weeks out and dropping the sus. Will take all of the previous up until show, with the exception of the suspension which I will cut out around a week or 10 days out. Right now I am like 225 and want to come in after watering out at around 175 and carb up to about 180-183 or so. Going to go middle weight. I plan on upping my cardio to 2 a day sessions once I reach 10 weeks out. As far as carbs go, I having been using 1 cup oats first meal, then 2 yams for next two carb meals , and then 2 scoops cell tech post workout. As far as protein, I eat all meat, chicken, turkey breast, or tuna, with the exception of 3 low carb shakes(or bars) per day. Any help that can be given would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

if you compete without taking HGH, you'll be at a disadvantage because everyone who competes uses it.

unless novice class, all npc midwt max is 176 1/4. as far as hgh, i SERIOUSLY doubt (and in fact know) that many use it (don't use it) (at npc qualifier show level), jun. nat'l is pushing it too for simple fact costs too damn much. 126 i.u runs around $600 and using 8i.u. day. last lil over 2 weeks. even w/ 5 day on 2 off, still about so. common to get results, need around 3 months plus of use (that's $3000 plus). i've did enough shows and watched enough to know you don't need hgh to win at qualifier level or even juniors. gear is a different story, but ain't shit w/o genetics, proper training, rest, nutrition, and mental attitude!!!!!
as for as your diet, if you've done previous shows, how your body responded is your best guide. personally, i'm not a big advocate of low carbs (at least for extended period at a time,e.g. weeks straight), get weaker, flat, mentally grouchy, and actually inhibits fat loss for metabolism slows. I'm starting my diet on 4/5 at 212 lbs so we're fairly close in wt (your 225). I like to start around 3000 kcal w/ around 400g carbs, 225g protein, 65g fat or so for a week, then next week go 2900 kcal. w/ 12 or 13 week diet, by 8 weeks, around 2500-2600 kcal/week (I lower carbs, increase protein). by 4 to 6 weeks kcals around 2000-2200, carbs 100 to 200 g w/ 300+ protein, 30-40 fat. last 2 weeks, maybe 1800 kcal, but 2000 low enough, except w/ carb depletion, been as low of 1600-1800kcal. Also great to have cheat days once a week (that's cheat DAYS, not cheat meal) until 4/5 weeks out (but this really depends on how you look and your individual disposition). also, i don't know if I would do that much cardio that far out. your body can get used to it and kind of stall. However, going from 225 to 176 (even 212) is pretty good drop so i might need to do more cardio this time too. w/ your fatburners, i wouldn't use them the entire 15 weeks for your body gets too used to them. personally, t3 for last 6 weeks w/ clen and/or good eca (lost do clen for 2 weeks, then 2 weeks of eca, alternate accordingly. you could do straight clen/eca starting at week 12, but start w/ low doses. (i worked up to 6 adipokinetix split up to three 2 capsules doses, and that stuff worked just as good as clen if not better for me, however started w/ one cap/day and worked up, if I did 6 caps/day now when not used to it, i'd be phucked up).
bottom line is giving diet advice is tenative at best for general paradigm (e.g moderate carbs, high prot, low fat w/ cardio) works, but its successful is highly contingent upon your individual disposition. some people can cheat like a bastard, and be lean as shit, other strict the entire diet and only 1/2 as lean. I'd just say do things gradually to allow your body to grow accustomed somewhat (e.g. low carbs slowly w/ high days too). best of luck w/ your show/diet!

my precontest regimen
As I am still fairly new to the competition realm (only 3rd show) all I can do is give you an idea as of what I'm doing. I started my actual diet at 16 weeks out. I started at a weight of 208lbs and 17%bf. Please dont ask what I was doing in the offseason as I still have no clue.
My diet looked something like this: Meal 1-15 egg whites and 2 packs of oatmeal. Meal 2- 16 oz chicken and 2 cups rice. Meal 3-protein shake (70g) and med. potato. Meal 4-12 oz lean red meat and 2 cups rice. Meal 5-same as meal 3. Meal 6-10 egg whites and 8 oz. chicken. Also carb solutions chocolate mint bars in b/w or for snack.
Train 4 days per week. Cardio started at 40min 5 x's per week and gradually went up. Supps included only eca, bcaa's and l-glutamine (30g divided daily).
I am now 4 weeks out. My weight is 195lbs and I am 5.5% bf. I do 1 hour cardio am and 40-60 min pm. I still only train 4 days per week. My accesories looks as follows: 16 weeks out 500mgs sust. per week, 600mgs test enanth. and 400mgs deca.
At 12 weeks out I added 3iu'g hgh 6 days on 1 off. I also started T3 at 1 tab per day 6 on 1 off and now only take 2 tabs T3 per day. I added clen at 8 weeks out and switched to prop, winstrol, masteron and primobolan at only 2 cc's each per week.
My protein stayed the same but I gradually reduced my carbs every 2 weeks. As of 4 weeks out my carb schedule is as follows: 200g, 100g, 75g, 50g, 50g, back to 200g. All I can tell you is that Im in the best shape of my life. The only thing left is a little under the butt and hams and more seperation in the thighs. But each week it is improving. My vascularity is also very freaky, and I have never been vascular. I do have to say that even if I get 5th place I am extremely happy with my results.
(BTW I am working with a guy who just turned pro and was a real freak. ) Good luck

DISCLAIMER: THIS IS IN NO WAY A FLAME!!
Does anyone cut for shows WITHOUT using drugs? I have gotten into incredible condition with proper diet and exercise regimens, and I don't always understand why everybody hops on the drug train right away.
I would be happy to help out and post my techniques for competition cutting, but I have NO FRIGGIN CLUE what all the drugs are doing for you guys, so I feel out of my leauge.
I guess maybe it's easier and quicker with the drugs....

In response to getting cut without drugs, my first two shows were done clean except for the use of a diuretic the last week. I have been lifting for 16 years now and normally only do 1-2 8 week cycles at most during the offseason. Up until getting ready for this show I had been clean for 26 months. I will not lie, I did use the drugs to get in shape faster but Its also a long story about realizing things in life and following a dream. Lets just say I've dedicated myself to things in life that make me happy and bodybuilding and competing is one of them.
To the question about my calories and such. I first told myself I was going to write down everything I did for this show, take pictures every 2 weeks, etc. Due to my hectic life that got tossed out the window after only a couple days. Basically my diet is consistent and clean. I have kept my carbs actually under 200 grams the whole time while consuming as much protein as possible. I eat 3-5 low carb/protein bars per day and have a couple shakes. Honestly I might eat 3 solid meals if Im lucky and have time. My carbs only come from 2 sources: potatoes and oatmeal, and I find that as long as I watch my carbs and get some fats from the protein bars and meats I get better.
This is definately now scientific and is different than how I planned but its been working. In case anyone is wondering, I work 2 hours from home and work 12 hour shifts then 2 hours drive home again. Thats why most of my food is coming from odd but easy sources.
