Sorry to hear that bro.
It really looks like you need professional help.
You may want to post this on the Counseling Forum as well.

Good luck.

Sad but bodybuilding can be more addictive than the worst narcotics, slyly wreaking havoc on your social life if you get caught in the boring process of eating/training/sleeping/repeating, again and again... but you obviously already know it

You'd like to focus on something else but you simply can't do it... this hobby at first is now a total obsession, and you're so brainwashed conceiving your existence differently is absolutely impossible...

IT SHOULD NOT BE LIKE THAT, NEVER  Life, when you're not a pro or making good money off it, musn't revolve around bodybuilding... it's a dead end  So many things to experience on this earth that this sport will never bring you :(

You're well aware of your situation but seem unable to wake up on your own... why don't you try consulting a specialist in addictive behaviors? It may tremendously help you... perhaps more than seeking the help of the best trainer or nutritionist, which would only increase your commitment to the sport in a desperate attempt to get physically better... when what you need (and i'm not judging you by any means, just trying to help) is more a kind of psychological help

Whatever you choose to do, wish you the best of luck felthamboy :)

I agree with Phidias. You seem to know what's wrong but not how to fix it! You should seek the help of a professional. You need some counseling, not a trianer or nutrition expert. I would start there. The other thing I would do is take a week off from training and go out and do some stuff. Go and do some enjoyable fun things. But I think we all agree you do need some help.

i am receviling counseling mate but the problem is i cant stop training or change my diet as im so scared of getting fat again i do not trust myself to make the right changes with my training and dite that why i need help from someone i trust and i know by following there program and dite im not going to get fat again i wish i could just take a week off if it was that easy i would not be looking for help i cant drop 1 am cardio session without having panic attacks let alone take a whole day off think your under estimeanting my probs by saying take a week off

No I'm not under estimating your problems. I own a gym and have trained thousands of people. If I gave you a program for training and nutrition, which had you training only one to one and a half hours a day and taking two days off from any training a week you would not follow it. You would still think that you need to do more, right?? I could tell you that this is all you need to do, would you do just that??? I don't think so. So a professional trainer would do the same thing as I am telling you now.........what is the difference. And BTW I am a professional trainer it's how I make my living!! I am also a National and International level BBer and do give nutritional advice to people with eating disroders. So underestimating your problems, I don't think so. I am not busting your balls here I am putting you in the picture. Your problem is all Psychological not physical. You need to take a break from what you are doing. I never said that taking time off was easy for you, I just said this is what you need to do! You will not get fat if you take a week off to enjoy yourself and get back into reality and before you start your new job. You need to get it into your head that you will not get fat by taking a little break now and again. The human body does not work that way.

Your problem is all Psychological not physical/QUOTE]

That's the key! Oldfella... i agree 100% with everything you wrote :)

felthamboy... nor Oldfella, myself or anyone else for that matter is underestimating your suffering, far from it... it's the exact opposite, we know exactly what you are experiencing due to years in the sport... 8 for myself growing from a skinny teenager to... well... something a little better today :p , a little more for Oldfella :D

As long as you won't have set your mind at rest, you'll NEVER get better physically, simply because the fear of getting fat will make you do silly things training/nutrition wise... like 7 hours sport a day or 15g carbs for months

Yes you MUST take some time off!!! If the following reason can persuade you here we go:

muscle burns fat > you need rest and kcals to build muscle < too much cardio makes it hard to gain lean mass or even destroy it

We could go on like this forever.

If you don't trust us  , send a private message to Phil Hernon... Phil is the best at what he's doing... he will explain to you in simple terms how the human body really works.

I feel for you bro.
Addictions are tough, and your addiction is not easier to deal with than any other out there.
My father had a gambling addiction for years, and he was cured by the 12 steps. The same stuff alcoholics use. You should take a look at it.
Another idea is hypnosis induced re-birth, where you go back in time and take a second look on your memories until you find which event or events affected your psyche to make you behave the way you behave today. You'll probably cry and experience the feelings of trauma and suffering, but then you'll have material to discuss with your therapist and try to find a solution. Prayers DO help too.

I sincerely hope any of this could help you.

We have several board sponsors who can help you with training, diet and nutrition.

BTW training for 5-6 hours a day is un-needed. How about 45 misn of cardio and 30-45 mins of lifting, in 2 sepeate workouts.

Email me for more help and guideance,

Felthamboy, I want to say something and then I'll tell you what I think might be best in your situation.

I'm not sure how I feel about people with emotional problems or psychological disorders diagnosing other members. If you want to offer your support or some general friendly advice then do that. Sometimes it's good to know that we aren't alone in our afflictions but at the same time, you don't want to inherit someone else's problems - thinking the other person is just like you when they most certainly are not. That being said...

Obviously, felthamboy thinks his problems are bigger than this forum. Well, he's right.

Felthamboy, I don't know what your history is or what you want out of this, or why you came here. Please go back and read your initial post and imagine that you just came here and were reading what someone else wrote. What would you tell that person? Di d you say you need to put your faith in someone? You are correct. How about learning to have faith in yourself. This is something I strongly recommend for you.

I'm glad you're seeing a professional therapist. Now here's what I want you to do. I want you to print or write out your initial post and take it with you to your next session with your therapist. I'm not asking you. You WILL do this. Discuss it with him/her. I don't want to see you back on this board until he/she has seen and read what you wrote. If you have something to say about the discomfort you are experiencing, you will call your doctor, not post it to an online board. You could be at a pivotal point in your therapy and I don't want to see me or anyone else on this board mess with your current program/therapy.

Do you understand what I'm saying to you?
