Does anyone else have this problem? I wake up around 8-8:30, and trying to eat makes me gag. I honestly dont have an urge to eat till about 10:30-11am. I dont know why, but seriously in the morning I cant stomach food... I try to eat, but whole food in the morning just makes me wanna hurl, and even shakes are hard to get down...


Anyone else have this problem?
Suggestions?
Thoughts?
 
I am the exact same way. I have trouble with whole foods for the first 2-3 hours I am awake but towards night time I eat everything that isn't buckled down.
I have a shake with a packet of oatmeal mixed in because it is the MOST I can stomach when I wake up.

I'd like to hear some responses because I know this is hindering my meal plan
 
It's like clock work for me, But like Phil said why force it? Usually I wake up to my coffee and sometimes I am not hungry right away but after the coffee and a stop at the bathroom my hunger kicks in. There are times and they are very rare but if I am not hungry, shoot I am off to the gym and guaranteed i will be hungry after that. In that case I carry my LBA mix cause I know I will need something right after to hold me till I get home.
 
Following Phil's advice, I only eat when hungry...and like you, most mornings I am not hungry when I get up. It's normally a couple hours after waking when i really have the urge to get something down me.

There are times when I will take my LBAs upon waking, even though I'm not at the point of hunger yet. It could be a mindset where it has been 8 or 9 hours...and damn it, I know that my body needs even if I'm not hungry. Learning, learning, learning. ;)
 
I am the same way. Since it is important for me to get carbs in the morning or I will feel like shit...I have trained myself to eat at least a bowl of oatmeal + shake. The way I did this is start using GHRP6 around 5am or 6am (I wake up around 8am). I shoot the stuff, go back to sleep, and then wake up HUNGRY AS SHIT. My gag reflex is gone (I'm like you I honestly feel like puking when eating normally in the morning) and I can eat what I want.

After a month of doing this my body adapted and I no longer needed the GHRP6.

Added benefit is that GHRP6 will release GH also which is nice.

My answer to this is simple if you aren't hungry when you wake up and you are sleeping around eight hours a night and truly trained your balls off the day before then you are to fat and your metabolism is slow due to that.

If that is wrong I would like to see what types of foods you are eating all day. Just how much junk is in your diet that you are filling up on that is not going to help you put on lean muscle mass?

I know that what Phil said is true but only because if you are eating correctly and training your ass off your hunger will increase thus causing you to eat more food. The more bullshit that is in your diet the more your training suffers. When your training suffers your body won't need as much food to feel satisfied and you won't be hungry.

IMO if you are holding to much bodyfat your body has a lot to feed off of throughout the night and since the metabolism will be nice and slow you will not need to eat in the morning. It won't be until you get moving and get that slow ass metabolism moving that the body will feel like it needs anything.

I wake up starving every morning and half of the time can't make it through the night. This appetite has increased as i have stopped eating things that aren't good for my goals and have dropped unnecessary bodyfat.

I find I have the same problem often times. it's interesting because when I wake in the middle of my sleep I'm usually starving. I think, for me atleast, when I'm sleeping I get so hungry to the point where I'm not hungry anymore. if that makes any sense. so when I wake up I'm not too hungry because I guess my body went into anti-starvation mode and cut off my appetite or something. I don't know, I'm just trying to make some sense out of something. if only I could train myself to sleep in short pulses instead of one long sleep so that way this would never happen.

My foods are pretty basic, beef, salmon, oats, blueberries, rice, shakes. These comprise about 90% of the food I eat...

I think that what you are saying makes a lot of sense though, I wouldnt consider myself "fat" but my bf% definetely has gone up a bit trying to put weight on.

My metabolism has always been high (started at same height 6' @150lbs), but now that I have been trying to push past the 230lbs mark, everything has changed...

instead of being tough with iron-will, if i give in and eat more at night when im already full but my head says no...next day i am obviously not as hungry,

should goto bed hungry, instead of eating i will be eating melatonin or 5htp and knock myself out silly....cant f around like that, gotta look presentable 24/7

actualy you WILL goto bed thinking about what to eat in the morning excited, and you WILL wake up hungry

im the same way i cant eat in the morning. get some liquids in ya seems to help me. im always hungry after a couple cups of coffee set in. expand your stomoch with some liquids as it goes down u will start to feel hungry at least thats my theory

Sounds like the perfect time to train. This is what I do, wake up, not feel hungry, wait an hour to fully awaken, train, take a handful of aminos, wait an hour, begin eating like it's going out of style for the rest of the day. Works for me.

Do you find it difficult to go heavy when you don't have any food in you? I'm not quite sure if there is any science behind it but I find my weights are much better when I do PM workouts as opposed to AM workouts with no food intake before.
 
I don't get hungry until around 1 P.M. (I do have an anxiety disorder which really messes with my appetite).

I can usually down about 90g of carbs from dextrose mixed with crushed ice (cold goes down easier for me), protein is nearly impossible to keep down though. I'd like to think going 4-5 hours in the morning without protein but with a ton of carbs is enough to at least make up for the catabolic effect. I've been thinking of just adding about 10g of BCAA's to the dextrose in the morning, not sure if it'd be worth the money or not.

Anyone have input on BCAA powder? I'd have no trouble getting that down. Worth the cash just for those few hours in the morning? Because normally I can get all my calories in somehow by the end of the night, so in a 24 hour period I'm still getting all my calories in... i'm just squeezing them all into a shorter time frame.

Forget those 2 snacks at 2 and 4 am and do an hr of cardio upon getting up and you'll be hungry
